realgone58 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 The Revell 50 Oldsmobile kit was our club build this year. There were no rules, so our member's builds ranged from mild to wild. I was the only one who did a stock one. If you notice, the roofline is longer than the stock kit. I used a 2 door sedan resin body from Model Car World (very nice product) instead of the kit Club Coupe body. Color is stock Crest Blue with Serge Blue roof. Other than the body, dist/wires and fuel line, it's all box stock.
charlie8575 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Very nice, Al. I was toying with two-tone blue for mine, settled on Garnet Maroon. I plan on buying enough of these for the resin bodies out there, so there's at least a few more color variations I'll be doing. Charlie Larkin
outlaw035 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 grt8 build al...looked good at the show tooo....
cobraman Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Looks great Alan. I may just have to get me one of these kits.
bbowser Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 X2. Great color combination, nice foil work. Very clean build, I like it a lot!
Bernard Kron Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Beautiful! I especially like the proportions on the 2-door sedan body, it gives this model a special "something". I'm such a fan of well executed showroom stcok builds like this one. Definitely a case of "the grass is greener..." since I'm congenitally incapable of building anything stock and rarely do replicas of any kind. Thanx for sharing!
pharoah Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Excellent build! The colors look good together.
Scalper Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Nice job looks really good.. I really liked this kit too.
Peter Lombardo Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 WOW, what a super clean build You know, this kit really does have a lot to offer, it builds up beautifully no matter which direction you take it. Beautiful job.
rocklandrambler Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Extremely well done !! Only little mistake is that the spark plug wires went UNDER the plates on top of the valve covers.
PappyD340 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Very CLASSY, great color combination, looks great Alan!!
Sixx Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 AWESOME build!! That's the same thing my club is doing for our November meet! You're right, MCW does have some nice resin!
