v264 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) My second car model (first was Plymouth Cuda) This time it is super Ford, super Mustang – Mercury Cougar: Edited November 3, 2013 by v264
peekay Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Had a look at the Plymouth too - both great models. I assume you've built models of other things besides cars to have arrived at this level of expertise. Very nice work.
Guest Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Wow! Stunning! AMT's kit I assume? You took the time to remove the molded in wipers and add kit ones. Which ones did you use? Stellar. What are the colors? Excellent photography as well.
Chris White Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 You guys, from across the pond, either have allot of time, or are extremely talented. Either way, I appreciate the quality of this build. Beautiful work
David G. Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Excellent work! Great photography too! David G.

Jantrix Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Those look wonderful. Please tell us where that excellent antenna came from.
v264 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 Thank you all. I’ve been making models for many years, mainly aircraft. Wipers are made by myself. Color is: Silver: Motip spray transparent blue: Gunze C50 Clear: Gunze GX100 Antena is made of medical needles. I’ll put some photos from the construction, soon.
hemi Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Simply stunning, that is one beautiful model you have built.
ScaleDale Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Great build. Love the paint job and details. This put the car on my build list. Gotta have one of these. Dale
Chillyb1 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Bardzo dobry! The antenna is an excellent detail and looks just right. My brother almost bought one of these back around 1979. We test drove it together and I loved it. Now I have to go look as the Plymouth.
Phildaupho Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Your model car photography is the most strikingly beautiful I have ever seen. Could you please describe your technique. I also really like your Cougar.
v264 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 Thanks, dziękuję. Phil, it's just a piece of black acrylic and black cardstock. And two lamps. That's all.
v264 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 I wanted to build Ford Mustang really, but that’s what I saw on the auction website: It was a typical, old AMT model: I cut out the door handles: I got rid of the sidelights and emblems: And the wipers: I cut out the air inlet and pasted the stripes of polystyrene on:
v264 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 Thereafter out of the stripes: I made an imitation of the garnish mouldings: I got along with the vinyl roof: I used alternately black matt paint and gloss one. Low pressure and from the long range: All of the body was painted with silver Motip spray
v264 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 Thereafter I masked the roof: And sprayed the model with a few thin layers of clear blue – Gunze C50: Then with a few clear Gunze GX100 layers After a few days I used a polishing paste.
v264 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 I made a headlining with a polystyrene sheet: And got along with the originally stark interior: I made some new details:
