High octane Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 The weather around here is straightening out somewhat, however I swear that I've seen all four seasons in one day in May of '80.
Harry P. Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Good thing that you didn't pull out your '67 Impala yet Harry, as we got a dusting of snow this morning. Yeah, the old Impala is still in deep sleep...
Tom Geiger Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Raining like crazy here in PA. Much better than snow! And as far as rain, I'm indoors this weekend doing show prep stuff anyway!
Harry P. Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Raining like crazy here in PA. Much better than snow! Amen! You don't have to shovel rain!
Craig Irwin Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 It barely got above freezing today, and was nasty grey and drizzling. 2 days until April, and about a month before testing at the 500 track starts.
Harry P. Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 It barely got above freezing today, and was nasty grey and drizzling. 2 days until April, and about a month before testing at the 500 track starts. Forget that! Monday is opening day for the Sox! All I can say is it better not be snowing!!!
madhorseman Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Forget that! Monday is opening day for the Sox! All I can say is it better not be snowing!!! Only if they are a better team than last year, Harry. Last season was almost as long as........well, as long as this winter has been!!
Harry P. Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Roy... I have to assume that last year was an anomaly. The Sox are way better than a 99 loss season. I don't expect that to happen again this year.
High octane Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 You mean they're goin' for 100 losses this year Harry??? Their ticket sales have been dwindling since 2007.
madhorseman Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Roy... I have to assume that last year was an anomaly. The Sox are way better than a 99 loss season. I don't expect that to happen again this year. I hope You're right Harry, last year was painful to watch.
1930fordpickup Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Forget that! Monday is opening day for the Sox! All I can say is it better not be snowing!!! They are in first place right now Harry!
Harry P. Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Actually it's supposed to be 65 here tomorrow (opening day). Should be nice. And believe it or not, there are still patches of snow on the ground here and there... mostly on the shady side of hills... but still there!
Danno Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 The Sox are undefeated . . . so far . . . this season!
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 79 degrees (F) and 10% humidity here right now. Somehow we got Arizona's weather.
charlie8575 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Let's see... Cape Cod got pounded last week...good, they can have it. We got nothing, not even rain. This morning was ice/sleet all over EMass, enough so that a lot of the schools in the towns near the New Hampshire border or in hilly areas delayed opening to sand- no closures I saw, though. And tomorrow will be low-mid 50s and dry. Followed by more 40s. This is spring? Charlie Larkin
Harry P. Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 The Sox are undefeated . . . so far . . . this season! And they still are. Sox 5, Twins 3...
Joe Handley Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 And they still are. Sox 5, Twins 3... Even better than the weather
Danno Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 And they still are. Sox 5, Twins 3... Good for you! Glad your team is off to a blazing start, Harry (and Joe)! Hey, another subject: I see we have a couple of Portillo's Hot Dog Joints here. They are all over Chicagoland, and even one in your town. So, whaddya say about 'em and what do you recommend?
Joe Handley Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Try anything, usually for me it's a Big Beef, Beef and Cheddar Crossaunt, the breaded or grilled chicken on bun or crossaunt, their chocolate cake (strongly recommend a big glass of milk with that), both their malts and shakes, and their Chocolate Cake Shake!
crazyjim Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Italian beef, no peppers, large fry (crinkle cut), medium Coke.
Tom Geiger Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I didn't sleep well last night. I had a weird dream that I was at a model show outdoors and it was snowing heavily. The show was over night and I remember being cold and having to move snow off my models. Don't ask where that one came from! I guess I've had enough snow and need a vacation.
crazyjim Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Sounds more like a nightmare, Tom. Maybe you need to make a scale snow brush? LOL.
Harry P. Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Hey, another subject: I see we have a couple of Portillo's Hot Dog Joints here. They are all over Chicagoland, and even one in your town. So, whaddya say about 'em and what do you recommend? Pretty much everything they have is good. You really can't miss, no matter what you order. Of course, Portillo's started out as a neighborhood hot dog stand in Villa Park, IL. called "The Dog House." So you have to have one of their "Chicago style" hot dogs and fries.
cobraman Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Beef and sausage combo dipped. Wow, that's some good eating !
