jrherald420 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Finished this one up before the Chevelle SS i posted yesterday, just got around to taking pictures of it. Did lots of Photo etched goodies, plumbed and wired it too. What you cant see is sitting on the center console inside is a pair of Aviator sunglasses folded up. I spent a good amount of time on this one for an up coming model show. Also the mirror is on the car now. I miss placed it and just found it. jrherald420 Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Thank you. I put a lot of time in on this one.
slusher Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Super sharp build, foil and paint look excellent. Great work on this build..
jrherald420 Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Thanks everyone. This one about got scrapped twice. The wing broke apart 3 times, once after the final coat of color, once after the final coat of clear and then the last time when i polished it. The interior bucket is too small causing a big gap next to the doors. I should have added some filler plastic but i got lazy. I did add some PE keys in the ignition, the pine tree air freshener, i used very small hose clamps on the heater and radaitor hoses....a few little things.
Kennyboy Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Beautiful work James! Sooooo crisp and clean!
KevinMoparFord Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Awesome build! If you built for a contest I wish you great success with it! Just a couple of extras that would not be tough to add, paint of ad photo etch radiator cap. If you do not want to buy one, PM I may have one to send you. Paint the battery caps, should be easy to do with a toothpick or pin, and add a drop of silver for the battery terminals. Not be nit picky, just want you to have the best chance of winning! Simple things to add, you have done such a great job with the details already!
jrherald420 Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Thats what i forgot to do was the battery caps!!! lol what would i do without you guys! I was sitting there looking at it after i "finished" and just kept thinking i was forgetting something. I will check to see if i have a PE radaitor cap in the stash.
Scale-Master Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Looks very nice, and if you are going to be fine tuning under the hood before the contest, I'd suggest cleaning up the paint edges around the reservoirs on the passenger side. Basics like that can be a brutal tipping point in a lot of contests.
gluebomb Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 That is super nice, and it is simple which makes it look even better.
Silver Foxx Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Beautiful looking build , so clean , so nice .

oldscool Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 That looks great! That kit always builds up nice.
jrherald420 Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 I'm going to start looking for several more of these kits. I am going to do one in each color offered. I'm starting 2 Hemi cudas today, one will be this color green and one in purple.
Deathgoblin Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Looks really good! My late uncle had one this color. His had been wrecked about '73 or '74. He bought it to rebuild and it just sat and rusted. He still ended up selling the carcass for about $10k to some guy in Ashland, KY.
