Bruno Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Here's my take on Revell's new Hemicuda. One of my favorite cars, with my favorite color; red! Red exterior with red interior, red Shaker bubble and red bumpers I corrected the wheel opening lips, added tire decals, seat belts and sprak plug wires. Everything else is from the box. Paint is automotive basecoat / clearcoat.
oldscool Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Oh yeah! Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Outstanding build Bruno. The corrected wheel openings jumped out at me as soon as I saw the first pic.
MrObsessive Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Looks absolutely excellent Bruno! I see you also did something with the upper quarter window trim..........you sharpened up the corner that supposed to be there.
Bruno Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 Nothing special Bill, only BMF, I did not do anything else on the upper quarter window trim. Only special work I did on the body is the correction of the Wheel openings and fix the crease on the left side quarter panel.
Bruno Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 Well, at first, I just wanted to reshape the existing wheel opening lip by sanding it, then after sanding for a while, I found out it was just looking worse... So I decided to sand the Wheel opening lips completly flush to the fenders, then glued on a .020" Evergreen rod, then blend the rod using some putty, sand, putty, sand, then primer, sand, primer sand, primer, etc... While at this, I also fixed the crease in the quarter panels, using an eraser as a sanding block.
Erik Smith Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Beautiful. Great work on the wheel openings.
