vamach1 Posted February 15, 2014 Author Posted February 15, 2014 1973 was a long time ago. Anyone under 30 probably has no clue there was a 1st Eleanor and the movie was a "remake".
sfhess Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Maybe if you typed in "ELEANOR" you would get the proper response. Do a little research before you get all pissy.
JTalmage Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Ahhhhh nearly 100 cars wrecked in under an hour... '74 was a good year for car chase movies! I need to go rewatch the original Gone....
dimaxion Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I must join in the Fray . Halicki's Mach I was the "Last of the Ladies" , quoted in the Film . A '73 MY . It is the only car to survive the carnage . 100 Cars destroyed in an hour is absolutely correct . I have the Commemorative copy of the original . The final sign off , Fade to Black is Elenore doing continuous doughnuts complete with Billows of Tire Smoke . Mr Halicki did the Directing , gathered up the cars , and did the Stunt Driving in the scenes he was in . All of Elenore's Stunts , he piloted . Thanx ..
vamach1 Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 That is correct - all real stunts and no computer editing.
Sport Suburban Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I would be interested in this resin detail kit too!
JTalmage Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Would definitely like to get my hands on some wheels modelled after the trim rings/caps like on the original Eleanor, along with a flat hood. I have the AMT '73 sitting in my closet begging... and I keep looking at '71s on ebay lol
Ford guy Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Man I'd like to have the interior parts and engine compartment parts, and the taillight and bumpers! They look so good. I have several Boss 351 / Mach 1 kits that I've been putting off because they're not right. Let me know when I can get these awesome parts!
nchogberg Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Yep, me with my feed hat on, prolly taken around 1981, Ft. Worth, TX, never should have sold her... My buddies stang is in the background.
Tom Geiger Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Even better... almost nobody knows that "The Fast And The Furious" original was a 1954-5 movie about sports car racing. I have a copy on DVD.
Bob Ellis Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 This Mustang will always be THE Eleanor to me
vamach1 Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 I asked my caster to make up five sets of the parts w/o the dash. I'll go back to look to see who were the first five to reply and contact the folks. Price will be $25 plus $3 shipping so we will figure out the payment details once I get the parts which should be in about 3-4 weeks. Once you guys give me feedback we will start on round 2 of filling orders. Please note in the picture there are three set of parts and all the original parts some of which I did not cast (dash, steering wheel), The $25 will be for one set (not three as shown) and it will include the tail light housing and red clear taillights so everything you see in resin. Ping me if you have any other questions.
vamach1 Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 This may be of interest to those of you looking for a Non - NACA hood. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25-scale-71-73-Mustang-resin-hood-/261410306729?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3cdd44baa9

JTalmage Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 What would it take to do a dash? Definitely would like to get this stuff for my '73 I've got waiting. Looking for a set of the dogdish w/trim ring wheels too like eleanor
vamach1 Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) My caster said the dash he did was a pain in the butt. If he wants to do some more that will be probably later this year this year after we get the small stuff knocked out. I don't want to overburden him. I do not have any leads on the wheels but I'll look in my stash - I may have a set I got from R&M of Maryland. Edited March 5, 2014 by vamach1
