uncle potts Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I've been building without a license!?? I am in soooooo much trouble.
slantasaurus Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Once you get licensed next you're gonna have to be insured to build....
Harry P. Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I don't think that license is valid unless the National Rivet Counters Association signs off on it...
Danno Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Well, just let me know when the licensing requirement starts. I already know a couple of modelers I'd like to nominate for suspended licenses.
grayghost Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 So that's how they sell built models on Ebay as pro built.
Tom Geiger Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I remember that many years ago someone was trying to sell those on eBay! Seriously! Only with your name and stuff filled in.
Lunajammer Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 So that's how they sell built models on Ebay as pro built.
DumpyDan Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Would this be valid in Canada to, and what about the UK they drive on the other side of the road. This just looks like more trouble then it is worth. I just dunno.
Danno Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I think you need a Modeling CDL to qualify as a 'Pro Builder.'
Danny Lectro Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Uh-oh. Looks like the one I've been using is a forgery! I paid good money for that, and now I find out it's not worth the plastic it's molded in.
FASTBACK340 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I think you need a Modeling CDL to qualify as a 'Pro Builder.' Silly… that's for the TRUCK modelers! Don't muddy the waters! I better keep quiet with all the points against me on mine……
johnbuzzed Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I don't think that license is valid unless the National Rivet Counters Association signs off on it... Or the Scale Automotive Engineers issues a certification.
FASTBACK340 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Or the Scale Automotive Engineers issues a certification. SAE? Bad pun…
Danno Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Modeling CDL only for truck modelers? What was I thinking?
FASTBACK340 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Modeling CDL only for truck modelers? What was I thinking? I know…I know…. Getting serious about silliness. <sigh…> Cold winter mornings off and I can be easily entertained.
ZTony8 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Would this be akin to a marriage license in that it would expire in 90 days? Or how about a graduated system where you gain more building privileges as you gain experience?Start off with snap kits, move up from there with demonstrated proficiency acknowledged by a board of master modelers. Can you just imagine Juha Airio or Steve Perry having to deal with a snap kit without making it into something else?
johnbuzzed Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) SAE? Bad pun… Yeah, kinda...It was a spin off the Society of Automotive Engineers, but I did realize the reference to the other mag... I woulda thrown in a LIARS reference if I could have figured something out . Would this license have a haz-mat endorsement for all those chemicals? Edited January 17, 2014 by johnbuzzed
