Danno Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 This was a hare-brained concept that just kind of presented itself . . . there may have been strong margaritas and loud Jimmy Buffett music involved. This was the second in a series of whimsical models based on the Aluma-Coupe kit. What if the Town of Boydville used an Aluma-Coupe for its police force? It took longer to mask than it did to assemble, but it was fun little slump-buster at the time. (Forgive the photos, they're old and it was an air-pollution-alert day.)
berr13 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Well, if they did, that's what they'd look like...
Danno Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Thanks, guys! Your feedback is really appreciated.
Agent G Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Love it! The use of the oldschool siren/light combo works really well. G
Danno Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Love it! The use of the oldschool siren/light combo works really well. G Thanks, G-man!! Old school is still cool!
Tom Geiger Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I dunno Dan... You just ain't right! And I want one too!
Dr. Cranky Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Okay, Danno, very cool model. NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM. I just needed to say that. Seriously, you built a nice model there, buddy. Congrats.
Danno Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Tom ~ Thanks, man! You're right . . . I ain't. Doc Crankus! Thanks for the tip of the hat! However, this car is an example of what happens when I go to my room.
1930fordpickup Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Looks cool. Just needs a Tommy Gun mounted on the hood.
Danno Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Thanks, Andy. . . . that's a thought! Thank you, Carl. Glad you like it.
Maindrian Pace Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Swingin'. I can see that hauling a Mullins trailer with jail bars for the perps. -MJS
Aaronw Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Does it have a rumble seat for the perps? That is really... different. I have this image of Mad Max if it was done in the 1950s.
Danno Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Terrific idea, Mike! Maybe I can catch Brad's trailer over-parked, so I can impound & confiscate it for public service! Thanks, man.
Danno Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Aaron, it is different, isn't it? Sometimes we just gotta have some fun! Thanks for checking in, my friend.
Skydime Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 That's sure a unique way of building this kit. It took quite an imagination to come up with that out of an Aluma-Coupe. I would have never imagined I'd have ever seen this. Now it makes me wander about other Boyd's kits as public service vehicles. Chezoom would sure make a quick taxi!
Danno Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Thanks, Ken. Wait 'til you see its companion . . . a fire engine I call the "AlumaPumpa."
PappyD340 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Very COOL Danno, I assume the criminals have to be strapped to the hood like a deer for transport to the pokey!!
bbowser Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Very COOL Danno, I assume the criminals have to be strapped to the hood like a deer for transport to the pokey!! LOL, now there's a thought! Nice slump buster Danno.
Danno Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Thanks, Larry. Great idea! I should fab up some straps. Thanks, Bruce.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Great concept. If I lived in that particular alternate reality, I'd really have to get busted for speeding more often, just to get pulled over by something cool.
