bogger44 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) I put the wraps on this one today. It was a fun build and ended up being one of my favorites in my collection. Thanks to all who followed and commented in my wip thread. There are a couple things, now looking in retrospect, I wish I would have done mostly involving the rear of the car. They include filing down the backside of the chrome tailight surround for a more flush fit, give the lattice work a coat of flat black, and shorten up the mounts for the rear part of the exhaust so the tips were closer to the valance. Oh well, I'm still more than pleased and it won't get me down. The front of the hood was bowed up in the middle, so I carefully bent it down what I could. It's not perfect, but much better than it was originally. Anyways, enough rambling and on to the pics..... Thanks fer lookin' and hope you all like it. Edited March 14, 2014 by bogger44
bogger44 Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 A few more shots...... Oh yeah, I left off the 429 fender emblems, no need to advertise what's under the hood.
JollySipper Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I really like this build! It has that perfect peroid-correct look to it.....
slusher Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Sweet build Tony, love the white with red interior...
Chris White Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I was wearing my bell bottoms, and lovin it. Peace brother, thanks for sharing the 70's, Man!!
Mr Stock Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Tony that looks very sharp, first one I have seen done in white, this is one of my favourite kits, I have 3 in the stash to do.
bogger44 Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Thanks for all the good words guys, I appreciate it. Gary, this is one of my favorite kits too. This is the second one I built (first was a Cobra). Have two more Cobra's to be built someday. I'll probably take a few pics with this alongside the Cobra and post them up as well. Maybe Friday.......
PappyD340 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Fantastic looking Torino Tony, very nice detail too!!
Nacho Z Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I'm really liking these blasts from the past. There have been a number of completed models lately that take me right back to my school days. This is definitely one of them. Nice job Tony!
om617 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Very nice. Look so much better when not saggy on the rear.
66belair Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 That turned out nice, great color choices! I have to get one of those, I for some reason have always passed that one up. Awesome!
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Sweet! I've been wanting to get one of these.
Peter Lombardo Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Really well done.........not my favorite car (muscle car) of that era, but certainly one of the quickest. The colorful stripe looks great on the white canvas.
bogger44 Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Thanks so much guys. You know, I didn't originally plan on doing a red interior/stripes. I was going to go with a blue interior and stripes, but the "blue" stripes on the decal sheet looked more purple than anything. So red ended up winning out, and in reality, I'm glad I went this route.
