No idea, but one of (I think) the earliest is the 1/16 Revell Jungle Jim Vega F/C, which was released in 1995:

I think one of his first was the Revell Jungle Jim Monza in 1/25th scale. It has a totally stock factory box art wiht the only change being the Model King Logo.

It was awesome to find on in a hobby shop back then as almost all vintage drag stuff was non-existent.

Actually, with a little research, this is the first kit offered by Dave and Model King in the 1990 to 1993 range.

I thought that Impala was a later release since I never saw one until after the funny cars. Learn something new everyday!

As for the JJ 1/16th car, I bought one when they first came out and then one of the kit vendors at the Hot Rod Reunion had them for $25 bucks. I bought one every time I went up there and ended up with about six of them over the years!!

Dave MK did that kit a few years back..........but I have been out of the 'office' for about 3 weeks......my sister became ill and then passed.....so I have not talked to Dave B in weeks....but I'll check to make sure.

For me the model king chose to sell most kits that I want and/or have,the camper/racers wedge,Mack truck and the list just keeps going.

I have not heard of the "Allison-Thunderland' being re-issued,

But Round2/Auto-World Has re-issued a few of the M-K released kits recently.

MPC's GTO "The Judge" Funny car I think was the first to be re-issued After M-K's run.

This time in retro-Deluxe MPC box-art.

The 78 Ford F-250/350 Firestone Super Stone is the latest.

So anything is possible.

I too am greatfull for his work.

I have a few of the kits he has had run.

I am surprised to hear that the Comet did Not sell well originally,

as they are Impossible to get now unless you have at least $50.oo for one!!

The hobby shop I go to quite often has several of the model king big AL kits which I have not ever seen there before. Isn't that an allison powered car? Idk if it is new or old? I think it has to be new cause of the fact there was more then three on the shelf (and i know those shelves almost by heart lol. )I have never seen it there before so maybe?

Part of their not wanting to do kits with third parties is that they wanted to build strong branding and adding other names on the boxes diluted that in their minds.

Not surprising Tom but I guess I would wonder if Dave would get any compensation from AMT/Round2 considering he invested some money into fixing some of the molds, didn't he? I realize he probably made money on the kits he had them run for him but they were left with some kits that could be run again without much, if any, work to them.

Dave's deal was with the old owner. He had an exclusive on the mold for a period of time for his investment. That kept him to keeping is expenditures to what could be recouped within a run or two.

Tom has it......there are NO new AMT kits with Model King on the box.....these are NOS (new old stock)

While we are friendly with R2 they have made it clear that for now no private issues......does not mean we don't talk!!!

As stated above It already Did with AMT/MPC kits.

Most likely with Round2/Auto World's Purchase from RC2/Racing Champions/Ertl.

They have already been re-issues M-K exclusives for the past 2-3 years!!
