Here is a Karman Ghia that I did a while ago. Still a car on the road look, a bit of rust on the window edges and wheel arches. Also a broken head light hence the rust on the inside of the light. Also chrome on the car is shaded.

Here is my first attempt at patina...

You may have seen this one before, but I thought it'd fit well here.

This '25 T-Bucket started out with a plan to build a nice street rod. When I opened the box, I found that the roadster body was badly warped. At the suggestion of a local model club member, I decided to use the bad bucket and make a pseudo junker out of it. This is my first attempt at such a build. I now have a greater respect for those of you who have been building "junkers" or wrecked models; it was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Now I like to see true daily drivers, beaters and rat rods (a much over-abused term), but I don't understand how the term "patina" came to be almost as over-abused as "rat rod". A dirty vehicle is a dirty vehicle, that doesn't mean it automatically has any type of patina. Same goes for the typical rat rod. And (in my opinion), when a clearcoat of any kind is applied over a true patina surface on an actual vehicle, that kills the patina. What's the point- to protect the patina ? Apologies for the rant.

here is a 34 ford beater...this was a ebay glue bomb that i put in the purple pond to strip the paint so i could make it into a streetrod...but this is how it came out of the pond after 2 days thought it was cool so i just left it....

This ancient water tanker was converted from a Revell 56 F100 into a F300 to F600 water truck. Inspired by my love of dirt track speedway and also by the models of my good mate Tom Geiger.

My first attempt at using Sophisticated Finishes for rust

i've used Testors "rust" paint in the past and dry-brushed it for a rusty effect, also their browns and light browns for mud and dirt.

Been too lazy to finish this one, wanted to recreate a moist/wet environment and have green spanish moss on the sides of this one to mimic a car I saw in a magazine once.
