ChrisBcritter Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Dave, sorry if this is a dumb question, but have you compared your Pontiac to the AMT '61 for dimensions? I have a '61 Bonneville hardtop that would greatly benefit from a lot of the more detailed parts (engine, chassis - lengthened of course - grille, bumpers, underhood stuff, etc.) yours will certainly have.
Dave Metzner Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 I have no way of knowing how parts of our kit will interchange with the AMT 61 Bonneville. I guess that's a "wait and see" proposition.. @ this date our kit is still in the tooling mock-up stage, hopping to start tooling in the next week or two..
Danno Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I can't wait for those 61 Pontiacs, Dave. My personal favorite 60's era poncho! Thanks for doing them. And thank you to you and your colleagues for all the great kits you've produced at Moebius. I have 'em all and I love 'em all!
Chuck Kourouklis Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 For my money that '61 Pontiac is the best-looking of any of the '61-'64 B-body GMs. Lookin' forward...

Dave Metzner Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) Sorry guys, I have too much to do and too little time right now, so I won't be following things here very closely for a while. I won't be ignoring you, just not following every post. I'll try to stop by from time to time, but won't be here every day.. BTW best date I can give for the Smooth side trailer is 4th quarter - it's being tooled now. Thanks for your support.. Edited May 22, 2014 by Dave Metzner

Dave Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 X4 wait that sounds like a gerat code for something......2015 Ford X 4 super spiffy something.....ok too many paint fumes today, but seriously thanks Dave!
MrObsessive Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I'm just glad that at least ONE manufacturer is responding to us fringe lunatics out here! Ask yourself-------20 years ago can you imagine ANY model company making an all new tool of a '53 Hudson?? Or how about a '56 Chrysler 300B?? Now with a '61 Pontiac Catalina (a much wanted model), '65 Plymouth, and the Ford Trucks on their way, we're living IMO in the best of modeling times. Throw in the fact that they're about to kit ANOTHER Hudson, and I'd say it doesn't get much better than this. Revell while putting out some nice kits, and Round 2 with them giving us reissues we haven't seen in years, have their work cut out for them simply because of competition. It's just a matter of time before one of these guys will latch onto 3D printing, and the possibilities could be endless as far as subject matter.

peter31a Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 71 Riv? Maybe. As much as I would love to see one, it doesn't have the drag or stock car second issues possibilities like the previously released or upcoming Moebius Models had/have. But it could make a great custom or gasser? Anyway hopefully we see one some day.

The lowrider guys would be all over this one just as they were for the '63-'64 Chevys.

Agreed. Moebius is definitely driving the bus these days. And good for them. I also appreciate their dedication to the consumer, and their willingness to not only listen to consumer feedback, but actually act on it. These guys just get it.

I'm not the old fogey that want a 57 chevy kit reissued every 5 years. I really love that Moebius is making kits of other 50s/60s cars that I normally wouldn't see. Thank's for being different! And still making a QUALITY product.
mnwildpunk Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I didn't grow up when these cars moebius is molding were common place on the streets and most guys my age want a honda but I am so glad moebius is bringing out kits of great cars I love the detail and I think they are miles above revell and round2 my only complaint is like tom petty said "the waiting is the hardest part" lol

Swifster Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) Dave, I can only say thank you! The subject matter has been great. If I'd like anything that can be reused in another car, I'd like to see a '68-'70 Javelin. These can be used as race cars in Trans Am along with stock car. They can also be used for AMX's (and drag cars). Just tossing this out there. Edited June 8, 2014 by Swifster
Reeves Racing Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Any news on the release of the 65 Comet. I am so ready for it. I am a little emotionally invested...
