tbill Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 well, this started as a paint pig, the kit was long forgotten in my cellar, and rodents had had a chew at it, so I was going to experiment with paint on the body. as usual, when not trying too hard, the paint came out great, so I had to build it. Bowtienutz sent me some parts to complete this [thanks Vince], and I used the wheels out of the AMT 69 chevelle convert kit, and rear tires out of an AMT parts pack. it's been an on-going project, but other than the mirror 'disc', it's done. I also had some hood fitment issues, but not going to mess with it for fear of messing up the paint. anyway, here it is [probably some 20 years later]
Harry P. Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 A nice looking model of one of the best looking big Chevys ever!
Curt Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 It is always fun to finish a "shelf queen" that's been sitting for years. Nice job, Tom.
unclescott58 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Very nice. Reminds me of a '65 Impala SS a friend of mine had in the late 70's. Very close to same color. His real car had a 327 small block. Other than that yours looks close. Scott
Speedfreak Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) Very nice looking model Tom! Glad you finished it. '65 Impala's are soooooooo cool. And like Lee asked, what is that color? Thanks. Edited May 27, 2014 by Speedfreak
Speedpro Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Good things come in time and your '65 turned out really good! Nice looking engine bay too!
