Finally finished this build after 3 yrs of work on and off. I was almost done with it and while putting on the last coat of clear it fell of the stand and into some dirt on the floor, and back in the box it went. But because of some encouragement of some friends I finished.

I lowered it and added some RatRod white walls with custom baby moons I made from 1/2" aluminum rivets.

I painted it in Model Master Viper GTS blue with 2 part automotive clear. I added a real wood bed. I used photo etched parts and braided lines from Protech, the distributor is from Detail Master. A few other details are custom blue dot tail lights, shaved bumpers and an eyeball shifter made from a straight pin.

I like everything you did on this build. Love the color, the engine, the baby moons. Please tell me how you made the baby moons from rivets?

Don I used 1/2" button head aluminum rivets, they have a 3/16" shaft.

Then I chuck them in a drill and start with 320,400,600 grit sand papers. Then auto polishing compound then metal polish. Finally cut off the stem and epoxy them to the wheels.

VERY nice build.  Love everything about it.  I especially admire the stance and the wheel/tire package, plus your idea for using rivets as hub caps.  Your pickup bed is to die for!  I've got this kit coming from ebay early next week and I'm eager to lower it like you did.  For the front, I was afraid I'd have to mod the drop axle or scratch one, but it looks like you got there with shorter spring shackles and flattening the spring.  I'm dropping in a leftover 350 small block from the Revell '69 Nova (bought that kit to put the body on an MPC super stocker, which has a big block).
