Harry P. Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I think she's cool. There. I said it! Fleetwood Mac is on my top ten all-time favorite artist list, and her songs are a big part of that. This video is so cool… it's Stevie in the studio, laying down the main vocal track for one of my all-time favorite songs of hers, "After the Glitter Fades," from her first solo album outside of FM, "Bella Donna" (1981). The first is an early take, before the background vocals, harmonies, or overdubs had been done… it's just her, singing over the main instrumental tracks. It's not the version that was ultimately released, but it's close. The second take is a lot closer to the finished product... you can hear that a lot of her multi-tracked voice has been added. That one sounds very much (but not quite) like the finished product. Obviously she knew she was being filmed… check out the smile on her face at 2:31. I love it!
jeffs396 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 You think she's cool, or did you have a crush on her in her younger days? Don't worry, we ALL did!
slusher Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) I always thought she was great looking even now at 60. I have her solo greatest hits and several Fleetwood Mac albums. I have been a fan since about 76...it helps shes blond and great looking... Edited June 28, 2014 by slusher
Harry P. Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 She's still a good looking woman even today. And FM is touring this summer. Here she is doing the same song... 20 years later...
Kris Morgan Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 She's still HOT.... She can still rock as well.
DPNM Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Stevie is my favorite female singer. I love her voice and as others have said, she still looks fantastic. The first video is in my favorites along with more of her songs/videos. Just have to watch and listen to them every once in a while. I can't help it...
my80malibu Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 She had Ties here in Arizona for a long time. It's been so Hot here, I can see why she moved.
scummy Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I met her once when they were doing the rumours tour in australia in the 70's . I was driving for an express company when i got a phone call in the depot that the primemover on trailer 26 had blown an engine and they needed another truck real soon . I took it and drove from melbourne to sydney and was parked up waiting for my trailer to be called to unload . While i was sitting on the fuel tank this smallish gourgeous woman walked from around the front of my truck , we talked for awhile and she left but came back a little later giving me a copy of the rumours cassette for my truck , no i didnt get her to sign it as i was into country and western then but took it to be polite . I did play the guts out of it though as it sounded cool .
Danno Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 She had Ties here in Arizona for a long time. It's been so Hot here, I can see why she moved. She was part of what was 'hot' about Arizona!
Jantrix Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 You think she's cool, or did you have a crush on her in her younger days? Don't worry, we ALL did! Yep, right after I saw the "Stand Back" video. Smokin' hot.
my66s55 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) Stevie not only sang "stand back", she wrote it Rob. She is , to me, the ultimate of female artists of her era. I can, and have. listened to her for hours. Here she is singing one of me favorites from the 1979 Fleetwood Mac alblum Tusk- "Sara. First, with Fleetwood Mac in 1979 on the cut version and then the first 29 years later in 2008 solo in concert of the full 7 + miniute orriginal version. Edited June 29, 2014 by my66s55
FASTBACK340 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Leather & Lace is our favorite song of their's as my Wife's a huge FM/Stevie Nicks fan. We had the pleasure of seeing Don Henley open for Stevies nick's doing a solo concert w/o FM at Jones Beach Amphitheater on Long Island. When the two of them walked out together it was one of the most enjoyable moments I ever had at a concert and the place….went…..NUTS. Me & my wife slow-danced in the isle at Jones Beach theater as they performed a rare live version of Leather & Lace. It was a fabulous musical memory. And yes, Stevie is still a looker…..

Harry P. Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Chris Isaak and Stevie Nicks doing a killer version of Neil Diamond's "Solitary Man"... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mrkai_o0uiU
1972coronet Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 My favourite Stevie Nicks song ; my fave for two reasons : 1.) The use of the Celesta 2.) The subject of this song ( Rhiannon ) is of Cymraeg origin My next fave would be Gypsy . Why ? Because of her mentioning my favourite Rock band : The Velvet Underground "So I'm back / to the Velvet / Underground ..." Without further ado :
Harry P. Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 More of Stevie and Chris Isaak, doing an unusual song... "Red River Valley," an old folk song from the 1800s.
