Congratulations! You are one of the few members here who didn't say "loose" a washing machine.

I swear, I think that maybe it's some sort of rule that everyone who builds model cars isn't allowed to know the difference between "lose" and "loose!"

You can lose your keys... and your pants can be too loose... but you cant "loose" your keys! ;)

Hey, if I'm gonna be a pedant, I gotta get the words right...right? <_<

Saw a bunch of late model Vettes tonight.

I don't know what it is about those two words, but I'm always correcting myself when I mean to put Lose instead of Loose.

but I think a girl could be "loose" and also be a "loser".

Add in misuse of to, too, two and there, their, they're... and one of my pet peeves... 10$ instead of $10.

Sometimes I think our International guys who speak English as a second language do better than the American natives! Although when they do the 10$ thing I understand since many currencies are displayed that way.

Harry, do we need an English Class thread?? :)

I saw a '64 or '65? Lark station wagon, bright red with a white roof.

Edit: '61? It looked just like this, but the roof was white:

That's a 1962. That was first year for the dual headlights. The '63 had the same bezel with minor changes to the grill, but that year they did away with that split between the doors.

And classics like 'your' and 'you're' . Then some people use possessives when they mean plurals (car's instead of cars). The one I'm guilty of is 'teh' instead of 'the', but teh spellchecker usually catches it.

Few years back, we had a moron lose a washing machine off the back of his pickup. Following car hit it, people died. Moron fled the scene.

Moron got caught. He'd just bought it at Home Despot and the sales slip was in the machine, with his name and address.

Same morons who can't figure out how to pack a Priority Mail package! :)

Many years ago when I lived in NJ, my dim back door neighbor came over for advise. I had a tough time containing my laughter.

It seems he bought a mattress and box spring from Sears and loaded on the roof of his mini van. A few miles down the road he lost the load. The car behind him braked hard and still ran it all over. The car behind him ran into the back of the car sitting on top of the mattress. Said mattress got to the cat convertor and started smoking. Cops came, recorded the accident. Fire dept came. Nobody was hurt thankfully.

The funny part? After telling me that whole story, his question to me was, "Shouldn't the guy who ran over his mattress buy him a new one?!"

Sorry, that is a 1961 Studebaker Lark Regal. In '61, Lark Deluxe came with single headlamps, Lark Regal with duals. Also a different grille between the 61's and 62's. Plus, and this doesn't apply to wagons, new rear fenders and taillights on the '62s. Sorry Tom, your wrong on this one.

I saw a white Javelin with gold stripes in someone's driveway. Looked to be in perfect condition. It had gold wheels... the kind with the ring of smallish holes all around the hub, I forget the brand name. Looked pretty cool... B)

Saw a clean vintage (60s-70s) green Toyota FJ Land Cruiser pickup this morning..didn't realize that bodystyle was sold in the US...

There's always a chance it wasn't. It's well past the 25 year import rule, and quite a desirable vehicle, so I wouldn't doubt people are importing them for a hefty profit. The same thing was done for the Mercedes G-class before they officially began importing new models around the mid 2000's. I've also known people who import the Land Rover Defender, and swap VINs to beat out the 25 year rule.

I finally got to see an Aston Martin Rapide on my way to work this morning. The driver was polite enough to goose the gas from some stoplights to share the auditory pleasantries with the rest of us.

I was riding my Vespa today, behind a beautiful, a gorgeous 300 SL Gullwing Mercedes. Mint condition.of course. Dark grey with red leather, original looking tires, not too wide. A beauty! Those cars sound good too. Local license plates.

Totally bone stock original 1969 Super Bee. Could not read the script on the hood bulge to tell which engine it had. LIght off white color with black trunk stripe. Not a resto, but survivor

Saturday I saw the new Mr. Peanut truck/vehicle but not sure how to download a pic from my iphone.

Easiest way for a novice is to email it to yourself. Look at the picture on the screen, (I'm on an Iphone) in the lower left corner there's a rectangle with an arrow coming out the top of it, click on that... that takes you to a page with "send" options. Select email, then just email it to yourself.

Saw a yellow '70 Mach 1 Mustang on Sunday. Yesterday on the way back from the new house with my wife we saw a '40 Ford Coupe(stock) and two other '40's cars that were lightly hot-rodded. All three were at a funeral home lined up at the head of a procession that hadn't left yet.

Not on the road but above my house! A police helicopter buzzing around at about 20 feet above my trees, flying around really low all over Crown Point! Not sure why? Looked like he was gonna land in my driveway! I looked right in the pilots face! He looked right back at me! "Geez, are ya coming to give me a ride?" : (
