jbwelda Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 looks like an old Roller up on the rack there too, don. well its been pretty quiet on the road yesterday and today, but did make up for it a bit today. just to keep the excitement down, we will start with a Chrysler crossfire. kind of like this design: why is it when I see a car like this, I think "bank robbers"? Ducati and Triumph: souped up Neon I believe, more on these later well what do we have here? truck driving down the road at 60 with rear door swinging open. tried signaling him a few times in different ways but he was oblivious. finally pulled over on the freeway after one of his good buddies 10-4ed him. duh. getting kind of bored are you? old farm truck: wonder what deficiency this dude is making up for? this cat had been tailgating me for about 4 miles before the road widened. time for a break. jb
jbwelda Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 lets see, where were we? oh yeah cat for sale: couple of built broncos: kool stuff in the yard close up of the bug: a red stripe: when all else fails, pull the "Jetta in a ditch" card: caddy in a field: Dear Lord, I hope they don't breed! nice No-va, someone told me this car has a 396 in it. oh my! what DO we have here? problem appears to be the "landing gear" are high centered on the rise up to the levee! to make it even more interesting, another truck pulled up. now he cannot proceed, and he cannot really back up...the nearest driveway is at least a mile down the narrow levee road. they might be there for a while. jb
Petetrucker07 Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) I was out and about, on my day off. Drove past a some what famous movie scene. It used to be called Chucks Cafe. Edited August 13, 2015 by Petetrucker07
Joe Handley Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I didn't see it happen, but several thousand dollars in damage (and likely some injuries) because at least one of these guys was driving like an idiot. Be careful out there. Came across one when coming home from Portillo's tonight, lots of emergency equipment then when I got to the wreck, there was some sort of Suzuki sportbike laying on it's side on a 4 lane highway. An ambulance hightailed it from there just before I saw the bike, hopefully that's a good-ish sign for the rider. On a lighter note, I did see a familiar looking guy walking away from a big Bentley vert with TOPDOG 1 on the plates as I was leaving Portillo's drive through, I think it was the man himself!
jbwelda Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 been kind of quiet the past couple of days but today I went to two roadside attractions of sorts and took some pictures that may interest some here. first though, road sights: you don't see many Mercedes sports sedans these days: little red corvette: another Nissan 300Z?: triumph and some scooter, neither of these guys seemed all that comfortable on their rides: truck repair shop with lots of interesting stuff around: I have noticed these sitting in a small town along the river but never ventured down to look close. appears to be a farm equipment museum of some sort. first though, international truck pressed into fire dept service: pink tractor, for the "womenfolk"? that was about it...tomorrow is the weekend so the street ought to be full of interesting cars jb
rusty85 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Odd little EV parked at the grocery, never seen one of these guys before. Apparently he had it shipped up here air freight. My co worker's 74 Cuda. Numbers matching with original paint.
Joe Handley Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Is it me, or does that little EV just look ANNOYED?!
rusty85 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 It does look like it's frowning. I hadn't noticed until you said something.
Petetrucker07 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I would love to have that 52 Pete. Well, any if those needle nosed Petes.
lysleder Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) That annoyed little EV is a THINK City. An ABS paneled aluminum structure that will set you back $25.000,- should you ever want one.http://thinkev.leftbankcompanies.com/The name of the class of vehicle is reason enough to get annoyed, don't you think? As if it is not bad enough to be only half a car, being less than half as useful as a real car, they had to name the class of vehicle something that leads the mind to think EWWW. I'd be annoyed too. Joe Handley Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Don't know why, but when I see that car, I can't help but think of Grumpy Cat
jbwelda Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 mo rust... clean primer truck: OG cruiser: clean shiny truck: stanced tuner of the day: next train to rustville: then I saw a barn sale and had to stop: very clean international pickup: mild kustom "rat" truck (not really a rat at all, just as it is and was and has been): old kushman: rubber bumper B with a spoiler: shortened, narrowed model A for use in the vineyards during the war: note the 32 for V8 hubcaps C Cab: kool old farm truck: another old truck: yet another kool old truck: old fuel pump: a kushman or tote gote or something: this has to be a sculpture, don't think it ever ran: and finally, on my way home, 14 ft ganga plants: that's my report for today jb
Tom Geiger Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 You can only grow six plants... might as well make them count!
jbwelda Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 still, those might be a bit excessive. right next to a church too...I took the photo from the church parking lot.jb
forthlin Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Here's a gorgeous '51 Victoria I saw at a car lot. No price on It.

TimJ Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 (edited) After seeing a '56 Bel Air pulling out of a nearby side street the other day I thought I'd see if I could track it down. It turns out that it's only 10 minutes walk from my house. A few doors away this nice old Chevy van was parked on the driveway. Edited August 17, 2015 by TimJ
jbwelda Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 one for the barge fans: pinstriping on a new gen TBird, and as I and homie dawg Shaka were finishing up our morning walk, what should pull up alongside photo of the moto (how many "incorrect" things can you find?): jb
Joe Handley Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 (edited) 3 lifted XJ Cherokees, there've been more XJ's in general running around this summer than the last few summers, must have been the lower gas prices. Edited August 17, 2015 by Joe Handley
jbwelda Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) nice one Scott! kind of busy day today, starting with something I never really knew existed, a Porsche 968, cousin or descendent of the 944: kind of nice looking, sort of like a Nissan 180SX: I see this truck parked every so often. its always got a new piece of gear on it, but it is never even dusty. even up in the wheel wells, clean. I call poseur truck. it could be that I am jealous because it is a very very nicely built land cruiser. jaguar under acceleration: its a Gucci!!! kinda kool kolor skeme though, doesn't really come through in the pic couple of nice tuners at the pumps, I really love those Honda S2000s and something kind of unusual, an Apple Maps truck with all kinda GPS stuff on the roof: next up, a field trip to my friends shop to see what he has laying around. jb Edited August 19, 2015 by jbwelda
Joe Handley Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 At one point, hardly a thing, it was a serious downpour about that time.
