Took a drive yesterday morning and passed a VW Caddy pickup. Looked used but rust free. Sitting at a stoplight two Ford Flexes went past now to tail. They looked like they'd just been to the detailer, all shiny and new. Not sure if they've reached collectible stage, but there was a car club meet in town, so I'm guessing they were headed that way. The Flex was one of my secret favorites back in the day.

More a case of what did I see from the road. 😁

Caterham 7 CSR belonging to my friend Roger.

Envy envy envy... :D

Stupidest thing I ever did, by far, was sell my 7.  :(

I think most of us have those one or more vehicles, we regret selling.

I saw the greatest vanity plate on my way home. He's got the fuzzy dice as well. Probably the kind of thing I'll do when I get to the age, if the plates available. 👍👍

I was young-ish, I'd torn the car all the way down to do a resto, the frame had a lot of cracks in it (I wasn't yet a competent welder/fabricator), and somebody made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

I always figured I'd find or build another one, but the REALLY stupid part is that mine was factory-built by Lotus as a London Auto Show exhibit, and had what was then known as the full "SCCA" racing option package, including some Cosworth internal engine bits and a pair of Weber 40 DCOE sidedrafts...and the factory build-book.

As vintage Loti go, it would be a particularly special car today.

'56 or '57 Mk II Continental. Nice survivor driver. Older paint, slightly lumpy bodywork, clean mostly original interior. Just the way I'd love to have it...

...diecast in 1/24 either Danbury or Franklin Mint.

Franklin - I'd been keeping an eye on those on eBay a while back since I had a sinister custom idea for one, but they always ended up way beyond my poor guy budget. Then there was the AMT acetate promo (or whatever incredible shrinking plastic those were made out of), where I got one for cheap years back thinking if I could cut apart all the panels and re-glued 'em back on straighter, then I could use that. This is an older photo composite when it arrived in the mail, it's probably gotten worse lately. Maybe if I leave it out in the sun, it'll turn into a curlycue work of art I can sell at an art gallery for 4 figures. 🤣

He had a second one that he used for sprint racing. It came to a sad end after arguing with a concrete block a year or so ago.
