The summer camp has wrapped up today and it's 5 days of R&R for me. The camp and my school bus company inked a new 3 year contract this week and before leaving my final stop in Boston the, staff and kids presented a $100 dollar gift card to me for Stop & Shop supermarkets. I never saw that coming but it'll take some pressure off of my bank account. It made my day.  🙂

Just home from AC/DC and it was great. They played for over 2 hours and included a couple of songs they only play in scotland (the Young brothers and original singer bon scott were from scotland before emmigrating to the Australia) and we have a statue of Bon Scott in a Dumfrieshire town. I dont think Angus ever stopped playing apart from swapping guitars. If you get the chance take it as they wont be touring again I believe

I've got 9 pints of pickled sweet peppers. My basement carpeting is almost dry. temps low to mid -70s starting Sunday and as far out as the forecast goes. And the Cayenne peppers are in the oven drying.

I've been moving literally tons of dirt and rock, for a major backyard remodel.  Been doing what I call micro-grading, a little cut here, fill over there, moved rocks that have been wasting space for decades, made retaining walls from rocks found over four decades.  When I built my house, almost didn't need plans.  Now you need Engineering on everything.  They also want you to get a Grading & Drainage permit when you build a new house, if over 50 cubic yards is moved, I'm way over that during the decades of moving dirt.  They have also been forecasting rain, finally, and I wanted to get this done.  I also discovered "spec bulk ABC" which is much better than loose gravel or regular ABC.  Pleased I got this done before the rain tonight.

Pleased that Blue Cloud hauled a total of 2.6 tons with 4 trips.

Been revising landscaping too, Domino Effect.  Wanted a level parking spot, had to raise up the grade about 10 inches, so the steps needed attention.

There were two flagstones with a finished edge in the random section at the stone yard.  Used a grinder to round the end.

It's fun building stuff that doesn't need much measuring, but it's sort of like scratch-building with the test fitting.  Pleased I didn't totally smash any fingers.

Haunted Hamburger?

Was my step father-in-law's favorite place on the planet, and possibly one of the reasons he is dead. (big guy, two-three hamburgers was a reasonable lunch)

Haven't been there since 2013, maybe high time to visit the area again.

I prefer to avoid crowds.  Service everywhere is getting worse.  But yea, that place. 😄

Was able to take my bike to the A&W show last night. Got more interest than the car. Going to bring it more often I think. There's a show on Saturday in Goulais River, 20 or so minutes up the highway. Have to sacrafice the spare tire in favour of the bike, since the bike won't fit otherwise.

My new role is MINE!!  I got the official offer today and the what I want for wages, vs what they are offering is 1600.00, Monday I will find out if that is approved, if its not, I will still take the role because in the end its my health that improves and I come out ahead.  Plus my last day in the field as a face of the job is Friday Sept 5th. I have 8 working days left in my current role which takes me to a full 14 years in that role.

I am very excited for the new role and the challenges it brings!

Pretty good day overall.

The chambers in the Neon head cleaned up a lot faster/better than I'd expected, and most of the valve seats...14 out of 16...look pretty good with no work.

Yes, I'm going to lap them all, but I don't think I'll need to break out the seat cutter.

All my stretching has been paying off too, as I can finally cross my legs again so I can put my socks on like a young man, not a crippled geezer.

No limping today, either.

Never give up, never surrender.   B)

My wife's mother and niece left today, thankfully. Sanity is slowly returning.

Every time I start to feel sorry for myself for having no family...  :D

I'm pleased to be able to move around still, but I'm worried........  Been busting butt to get my backyard remodel complete, before a much needed gully-washer.  Got about 200 pounds of flagstone to put under the Shipping Container perimeter, have to get just a few more pieces.   Just when I completed this job, it rained cats and dogs.

Also pleased to use some of the scavenged Redwood for something, this is where the forklift hole is.

Another reason to be pleased, a reliable pickup that isn't a rolling computer.  I have hauled at least 6 tons of rock and dirt this summer.
