Discovered some reels of movie film that I took with my dads movie camera about 47 years ago. Included is one of my sisters weddings and tornado damage from a bad one in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Also some shorts of my friend and I doing wheelies on our Stingray bikes. The shocker is that they were still good enough to have them put onto a DVD !

taking my dog out for her morning walk (shes a 7 month old great dane) and running into one of the other great danes from the 'hood down at the park, they get on like a house on fire so she was a happy girl

then took her to obedience classes and was told we'd done so well that next week we'd be tested to go up to the next level

then took her to giant dog breed play date (yes, such things exist) where we let her off the lead for the first time and she repayed our trust by not running away. she just wanted to spend an hour and a half wrestling with her litter mate brother who she only gets to see at these days. a great afternoon watching 30+ danes and irish wolfhounds running free and not being careful about standing on smaller dogs (despite their size, giant breeds are remarkably gentle with other animals, generally more so the smaller the animals)

all in all a good day topped off by her being so tired she'll (hopefully) sleep through the night

this is her when she was about 3 months old, she's about twice the size now (about 97lbs, expected to reach 130lbs at full size)

Cobraman, I've had 8MM and Super 8MM film laying around from the 60's with footage of drag racing mostly and had them put on a DVD last year. While they still look pretty good, I wish that I had done it 'bout 20 years ago and also added a "sound track" as well.

I was shocked mine were still in pretty good shape. They were in a basement in Illinois for many years and about 7 years out in my garage in Arizona where it gets pretty darn hot. That film lasted longer than my sisters marriage. : )

My sister was babysitting her friend's 3 year old this morning and when she went to get him ready to take to his maternal grandparent's house, she told him he could have a "Scooby Snack" (a doggie treat shaped kids cracker snack licensed through Hanna-Barbara), so he comes running into the kitchen looking for them. I help him find them and next thing I know I hear a very quiet "Scooby-Doobie-Doooo!" as he runs back off to my sister's room to get ready to go to his grandparents' house.

Now I'm still bent over at the kitchen counter by the cabinet the cookies were in and just lose it, I'm literally pounding on the countertop laughing my fool head off while trying to stand up at the same time.

This little guy is kind of a surrogate nephew for my sister, her boyfriend, and myself, while our parents treat him almost like a grandchild, or at least a great nephew.

Wait! She fed the kid dog treats?

Nope, kids cookies based around the "Scooby Snack" treats from the "Scooby Doo" cartoon series. They're actually pretty good too!

Come on! You didn't know there were Scobby Snacks for kids? They been around for several years now.

Give me a break Scott :) He DID say doggie treat! :o And no I'm not up on kids snacks much. I'm not one and my kids are grown.

I haven't seen the cartoon in years. But didn't Shaggy eat Scobby Snacks once or twice, and like them too?

Scott

Yes, but considering popular myth about Shaggy, he might have just had the munchies :P

For starters, what pleased me today was finding this thread. A pleasant departure from the daily grid-sessions that occur. I've had an incredibly active summer which I'm grateful for. I must have driven the Barracuda over a 1,000 miles this year to shows, cruises, and just joy-riding. I'm grateful for landing a dream-job working at a premier restoration shop on Long Island. I'm grateful for having a supportive, involved Wife whom is with me at all the shows and functions I enjoy (as I do for Her). I'm grateful for being in good shape for someone approaching 60 (Huh? When did THAT happen?!?) I'm grateful for my big loving hound Buddy. I'm grateful to be actively involved with people I'll probably never meet in person, but on forums such as this, we're all neighbors.

This all pleased me today when I gave it some thought…. After months of being too busy to slow down, I'm glad I finally read this. Great post, thank you.

The look on my older brother's face when I took him to his first drag race in over 10 years. I paid for everything, including admission, food, and drinks.

he was just awestruck when he saw the pro mods going down the track. Every time he smiled in excitement, I had to smile, too because I just made his day.

Brotherly love.

Finally got my hair cut today, been needing to get it done for the last couple months but haven't had the time. I had been starting to look like that old pic of me in my avitar again!
