vintagedragcrazy Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Did you get any on your model? Vince
Joe Handley Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Been there, done that! Found dish soap works good for removing paint if you don't have an appropriate aggressive hand cleaner too!
chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Did you get any on your model? Vince Surprisingly, yes! It was a heavy coat of black for a body; then a roof panel in white primer; another tree got just dullcoat; and then an interior got red paint. Then I did a mist coat of black on the body; another shot of white primer for the roof panel; a second dullcoat; and a very faint black misting for the red interior parts. Then in about five minutes I lightly sprayed more red on it. And I'm still not done with the chassis And I just found out that I own a Johan kit: the Superbird that I thought was an MPC. It was sitting in the cupboard over the stairs since we moved in. I found it many times, and sometime last year my father decided I could have it. A lot of flash on it, but nothing major. I painted the interior for it, then put it in a dogfood box and it went on the shelf of doom. Now that I know what it really is, it'll probably stay there until I find some time to trade it. cobraman Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I recommend disposal gloves. Cheap to buy and work great .
High octane Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 LOL! Miles that reminds me of my current model I'm workin' on as I SHOULDA WORE A GLOVE.
vintagedragcrazy Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I was shaking up a bottle of flat red tamiya paint and it wasn't tight enough and my shirt, trash can, brother and floor was covered with little red dot's kinda looks like I killed something at my bench lol o well maybe better luck tomorrow. Vince
Roadrunner Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Decided to get some painting done tonight! That's an impressive looking paint job; you've made it look just like a hand. Excellent.
Roadrunner Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 What's pleased me so far today, is finally getting a real start on straightening out all the mess from a recent move into a new environment. I have boxes stacked to my chest all over the place, and usually have no idea where anything is, so I'm slowly getting it all organized.
Tom Geiger Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I have boxes stacked to my chest all over the place, and usually have no idea where anything is, No worries! Many of us live there!
Roadrunner Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Yea, it'll probably still be the same mess, just organized differently.
slusher Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Wife and I had our taxes done and walked away with some. It seems like each year the refund keeps getting smaller....
Lucas van H Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Went to the local goodwill store and bought some games. I think 10 games for 12 bucks isn't too bad, including some games that I played when I was 8 or 9 . Aahhh, memories
James2 Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Woke to this view of the old Heifer barn yesterday...
vintagedragcrazy Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 That sure is a pretty picture but only if it were somewhere else like Alaska. Vince
oldnslow Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Beautiful, glad I'm not there. Supposed to be in the 70s and sunny today.
Roadrunner Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 My municipality requires that my personal property tax be paid before the issuance of a mandatory auto sticker, but this year, they're willing to waive that requirement for me; good news, as I'm terribly cash poor for the time being.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I've gotten a lot of work done on my Mini. Hopefully the care package comes from Tamiya soon! I'm so glad that they replaced my defective parts.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Watching the UMaine vs UConn hockey game
AC Norton Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 ....having a nice dinner that my Robin made for us, getting handed 40 bucks from my friends store for a sale of one of my items,...then spending that not 20 minutes later on 2 Revell BRE Datsun kits........not a bad day.......the ace........
cobraman Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 What a great day today. It started when I went to fill up my F 150. Got gas for 1.13.9 a gallon. Yes, 1.14 a gallon ! Thanks to the fuel points you get for grocery shopping at Frys. Then a trip to Hobby Lobby. 3 model kits. Then to the theater to see " American Sniper". After that a stop at Red Robin for dinner. Life is good !
High octane Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Sounds like a good day Ray, and yes life IS good.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 So I woke up at five o'clock, and had my favorite meal: meatloaf, French-cut green beans, and mashed potatoes.
Agent G Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Woke up to a house full of grandchildren. Can't get much better than that! G
