90% US Parts ?!?!?

...10% "PRC" parts???

The factory stock parts were deleted by MPC in all 1/20th Ford van kits, in the second half of the 70's (early 80s):

High Jacker/Shock Treatment 4x4s, Visible/Super Vans, Slammer & Wizard versions.

What truly struck me about this kit is its packaging : "Product Made in the USA with over 90% US Parts" !

I'm buying one for this reason. (I like the look of the Econoline too.)

Since it can't be built as a "factory stock" Ford Econoline, I'll be passing on this one.

At least two sellers on eBay have them listed.

Thanks. Mine should be here today .

Got it. And it's all molded in white plastic.

I plan to do a 2wd van by makeing a twin I-Beam front . And useing the rear axle and make very simple leaf springs from

Evergreen plastic. I won't display it on a mirror, I just want the stance right

Nice review, Chris, thank you. I can't think of any other kit which ever included a quiver, fireplace, and Thermos container. :D

Nice to see the stock hubcaps are included, too. There is no rear bumper included, correct?

I don't think that's a fireplace, but a vent column for the stovetop.

Yup, I sat and thought on that for a bit last night and I'd agree with you that it's the vent top.

I like that review on the van. I have one of the 1970 Window vans, and this one is a nice addition to the line. I would have preferred a straight commercial panel van, but I may be able to work with this one.

Wonder how much cost would be involved to turn this into a 1/25th scale kit

You would need the Motor City Resin's 74 Econoline kit, and an MPC Ford Stunt Van for the engine, wheels, tires, suspension and exhaust. Then just have someone reszize the decals that come in the 1/20 kit.

Been seriously thinking about doing it!

Chris that is one great reveiw on this kit. By the way, I like your enthusiasm. Model building should be fun. And it is a fun model. Despite your great review, or maybe because of it, I again will not be adding this kit to my collection. I'm not a big fan of custom vans. Especially 4-wheel drive vans. Still it's a great review. Good job of showing us most everything. I think you may have missed showing us the clear parts. But who cares. You showed us enough to get a good feel for the kit. If your other reviews are this good, I may have subscribe. Thank you.

I suspect he meant for Round2 to retool it in 1/25, not make your own. I'd buy one in 1/25, but 1/20 puts me off.

Ha! I bet I did. I had the clear trees and red clear trees laying out and never got to them in my excitement.

Wonder if I can edit a video that's already up to add those parts. Probably not, but I'll check into that.

Wouldn't that be cool? There is a guy on You Tube that gets cases of free kits from Round2 to show them off. what sucks is he isn't into car models at all, only sci fi, so he never does anything with the car models, just shows the boxes in the background a bit and that's it.

You'd think they would give them to someone that was into cars so people could see them.

Just got one off of eBay, should be here by jan. 19. Looking forwards to it, still working on my 1977 gmc snowplow for the past 5 months though so not sure when I'll get to it. Got a big stash of projects with little little time.
