FineModelCars Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Here's the result of my first rapid prototype MGA scale 1/8 The original car: And the model car : The rims are selfmade.
John Goschke Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Wow! That is amazing! Really beautiful work. Are the tires rapid prototyped as well? Other than the windshield looking like it could use a bit more rake backward, the model looks incredibly realistic.
1 bad55 stan Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I thought it was a 1.1 car.Excellent build...
Maxicoop Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 wow !!!! start that bad boy up and let's go for a ride !!!!!!!! super build !!!!!!!!!!
Dave B Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 That is spectacular, nicely done. Do agree about the screen however Dave
blunc Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 she's a beauty. I agree about the windscreen also...the rear of the car could do with a little lowering if you intend to match the ride height of the 1:1.
Art Laski Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I can't believe the high caliber builds I'm seeing on the site today. Fantastic work!
FineModelCars Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Thank you guys. The tires are rubber from the jaguar revel kit and the windscreen is a little wrong. It's not a perfect model, but I do my best.
peekay Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I can only agree with the others - a truly outstanding replica, virtually indistiguishable from the real car, even with the direct comparison which you invite with the first two pics. Wunderschön!
DeeCee Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Not my thing, but GEE, that is sweet, a very clean build, great work.
thinkbig Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Thumbs up!! Love the work on the interior and tonneau cover. That Babe looks like the real thing.
62rebel Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 most impressive! out-freaking-standing, actually.
Russell C Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Great work. I had missed your build page. Rapid prototyping is the direction I plan to go in once I get out from under my current non-model car work.
