Ford guy Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Awesome build Mike. The work on the bed turned out great and that blue and silver paint is super nice and so shiney!Pretty Cool.
Atmobil Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 The foiling looks just as great as the rest of this truck does
gatorincebu Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Nice lookin cab. The BMF looks great! Be Well Gator
Maindrian Pace Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Thanks guys. 4x4 decals for the bed sides were a requirement, so I found an image online that I liked, reduced it, and printed it. It looked too black on this truck, so I switched the numbers to a blue color, and left the drop shadow black. This turned out much better. They never print as vividly as they look on the screen, so choose a more vibrant color than you want before hitting print.
mustang1989 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Your work on the BMF paid off Mike. Lookin' good.............really good.
Tom Geiger Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I love this one! I went back and reread everything! A lot of great work here.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Excellent Work!! Looks like the real thing!! I had a 77 and a 79. Both were great trucks.
Maindrian Pace Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Thanks again guys. The cab and bed are mounted, working out some engine bay details now.
Maindrian Pace Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 Basically done, except for the roll bar and push bar. The roll bar is mostly decided, but I'm torn on the push bar and I need some input. I like it, but I think it hides/competes with the grille. Better with or without? After those last item(s) are on, I'll take some outdoor shots and put it Under Glass.
mikemodeler Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 That is absolutely beautiful and I sure wish someone would offer that bed in resin or better yet, a complete kit like that!My opinion? Leave the push bar and roll bar off, it looks just fine without either one.
Maindrian Pace Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Decided: No push bar. But I really think that the roll bar adds something. I may make it removable.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 The best short bed Ford like this that I have seen built yet!!! I would put the push bar and roll bar on it. It looks excellent either way!!
Travis T Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Roll bar looks perfect on it, push bar I could take or leave. If you put it on, I'd probably leave the winch off. Absolutely beautiful build, especially considering what you started with.
Maindrian Pace Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Thanks guys. Travis, the winch is molded in, the push bar was from a Bronco kit, and wasn't chromed originally. It may go onto a Moebius '72 long bed 3/4 ton 4x4 in the planning stages.
Davewilly Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 turned out Greaat! I agree the roll bar is a must for that year....everyone had them in the mid 70's thru the 80's push bar was used alot also...maybe you can use some double sided scotch tape and change it up now and then! But really nice work on it the BMF looks great. My first ever BMF job was a 58 Impala SS did it inside and out....its tricky work sometimes but man what a change it gives on the finished product.
Canso65 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 That is one beautiful Ford Mike.Love the blue!Rob
Maindrian Pace Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 It's been a fun project, rebuilt junker has always been my favorite build type. More of these to come, as I have several boxes of junk that need a second chance. I'm waiting for a nice, slightly overcast day to get some outdoor pictures for the under glass forum. Forecast says maybe Saturday.
