Art Anderson Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Any chance this will be the 4wd version we all have been waiting for???? Nope, 2wd
Travis T Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Sweet. I was hoping the 72 would be a long bed Sport Custom, my dad has one he bought new. It would be too much to ask for it to be a 302 with a three on the tree, I bet it's basically the same as the 71 kit.
mk11 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 maybe I'm mounting on the off side here, but with '69, '71 and '70 2wds already on the market wouldn't it seem they might sell more with the 4wd chassis vs just another 2wd re-issue with a grill and decal update? mike
Rob Hall Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Because the cost of a grille and decal change is negligible
mk11 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 The parts already exist, so it won't cost them anything anyways. All the various permutations of this tooling were planned ahead of time. Anyways, I'm not in marketing Just very interested in the process... mike
mikemodeler Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Because the cost of a grille and decal change is negligible While that is true, I would be willing to bet that they would sell a boat load of these kits with a 4wd option!I have the front suspension from the Super Stones kit to make one of mine a 4wd, but am lazy enough to just buy a kit that already has the parts in it! LOL!

LOL!A while back there were unauthorized photos of 4x4 components for this kit originally posted here (and soon taken down), so my guess is that at some point in the future we will see a 4x4 version or two of this basic kit tool.....TIM
1930fordpickup Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 With the model companies wanting to get the most bang for their buck we will see the 4x4 later rather than sooner. Just a little bit at a time and we will spend more. Good for them , they can afford to make more tooling Ihope. I wonder if a wrecker, flat bed or a box truck F350 was ever in the plans?

I suspect we will see the 4wd, just surprised that it isn't this time around.

W-409 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I just bought the '69 and '71 Ford Pickups and they both look excellent! Looking at the parts made me sure that these kits will look excellent even if built box stock without any added details. I can't wait to get started on them and I will definitely do some extra detailing on both.Only problem I really don't understand on this otherwise excellent kit is that why window chrome trim is molded to the windows?! I think that's a stupid idea, as one little slip with hobby knife when foiling ruins the whole window. If the same happens on car body where chrome trim usually is molded in, the flaw is not that visible and probably can't be seen at all. I hope I can buy extra sets of windows from Moebius when I get to the foiling as I might need a few sets of them...Looking forward for the other kits as well. I'll buy at least one of each.
unclescott58 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 If you can, you need to post the same for the '67 - '72 Ford trucks. I know how to identify them, but it would still be interesting, non the less. The '73 - '79 generation trucks would interesting and useful also. And Chevrolet from the same time period too.

Pick ups suck. Big Rigs are better!
unclescott58 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Even though you don't like the light stuff, thanks C.M. for posting the above.

unclescott58 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Very cool! I love it. Any more, and where you finding these?
unclescott58 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 The more I look at the Jeep one above, the less impressed I am. The Wagon, Wagoneer, Commando, Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee have a lot of front ends are either missing or given the wrong information about. This one leaves a lot to be desired after looking at it closely.
chuckyr Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Very cool! I love it. Any more, and where you finding these?Greedy huh?
unclescott58 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Greedy huh?I was until I looked at the Jeep one more and more. The information on the non-military/CJ/Wranger types of Jeeps is just plain terrible. I'm not finding any wrong info on the Ford one. As good as the Ford one is, I don't understand how the Jeep one can be so bad. I'm now afraid to see what they have done with other makes of trucks, if they've done them?

Rob Hall Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 After the '70 and '72 kits, I wonder if we will eventually see more variations of this tool. A '67 and '68 would be nice. And the chassis, engine etc could be used with new body, interior etc to do '65-66 versions. Or maybe new tooling and do some '73-79 F series...
