exesivefire Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 So I added more to the cage, first coat of primer is drying now
exesivefire Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 Thanks guys. I'm really pushing myaelf on this one. Gonna have to stop somewhere and start throwing paint soon though
Sixx Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Dang Andy, I just checked your thread...WOW!!!!!!!! Awesome work man!!!! That engine is so freaking sweeet!!!!!!
exesivefire Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 So making pretty good progress. Shot primer on most of the larger pieces, getting ready to spray some color and start assembling the major sub assemblies. Figured this was a good time to document progress with a few pictures.
freakshow12 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 That is looking so good. I don't think you can call it the track rat anymore. It deserves shiny paint as it's looking like a top notch track day car
exesivefire Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 I contemplated going with a hunter green, but I'm sticking with the olive drab I planned from the beginning.
exesivefire Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 color on the chassis, going to finish up the bits in the engine bay and get that motor mounted. Then I can move on to the Interior.
exesivefire Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 figured I would use a piece of vinyl to tryout the hood stripe before paint (don't focus too much on how perfect I laid it) and figured out two good things. 1- I like the stripe. 2- if I take my time and cut carefully, I can actually use the vinyl instead of trying to paint it on. this is thin enough it probably would leave less of an edge.
Ford guy Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 This just keeps getting better! This thing is so awesome! The hood scoop and the front splitter are so cool.
freakshow12 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Yup the olive drab works just fine! Keep up the great work
Devilsnake98 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) The color choice is weird but I think it will look pretty sweet. The stripe should set it off as well. Is the stripe gonna be black? Edited October 21, 2014 by Devilsnake98
exesivefire Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Thanks guys, yes the stripe will be black. Maybe a red outline.. Maybe

exesivefire Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 intercooler piping done, radiator is mounted and interior flocked. Just have a few details and the engine bay will be done.

freakshow12 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Beautiful! Even if it IS an LS engine in there. Lol
