curt raitz Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I had a friend send me this model to build for his collection. It's a 1/20th scale model of the McLaren MP4/27 Lewis Hamilton drove in the 2012 Australian GP produced by Fujimi (GP-43). He qualified on the pole, but finished in third place. Body is painted with Mr. Color Super Metallic "Plate Silver Next" SM08, kit decals supply the additional colors. Typical Fujimi plastic model kit, everything fits superbly! This is what a front wing with 27 pieces looks like: only took about 5 hours to build, ooofta! thanx for looking'
Nacho Z Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Love it Curt! Really nice to see your work on these race cars.
Bernard Kron Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Gorgeous. All that finicky detail serves a purpose in your capable hands. The impeccable fit and finish stands up beautifully to your close up photography.
935k3 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Great job!!! I hope you saw what happen to Hamilton at Spa this year then you will get this pic.
ferrarijoe Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Looks perfect. Does that kit come with engine detail?
bbowser Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Great model! Don't see enough F1 subjects on here.
Jaguar man 21 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 This build encourages me to finish a few of my f1 builds, I need to finish my mp4-4 I've been puting it off for a while
riverart Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I am a Hamilton fan and this build is spot on! Great job!
curt raitz Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Looks perfect. Does that kit come with engine detail? Thanx It does not have engine detail to speak of, just what you can see through the body. It is your basic curbside F1 car model.
afx Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I'm no Hamilton fan but I really like your build Curt.
