Matt Bacon Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I'm looking to bring the Tamiya Jag Mk2 up to "Callum" spec. I've got plenty of details to work from. The kit has cut outs for mounting the metal bumpers. I'm wondering if you guys can tell me if the "modern" bumpers on here remind you of anything that I can source? I think the rear one looks a bit "80s Porsche", but at the front end I'm lost... Any ideas? bestest, M.
Matt T. Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Rear looks kind of like an '80s Porsche 911 to me.
Jantrix Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Rear looks kind of like an '80s Porsche 911 to me. My thoughts exactly.
Joe Handley Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 The rear does now that you mention it, not sure on the front.
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 911 front would be a good starting point too, smoothed over and shallower, with the relief cut for the grille and the brake ducts (or whatever they are) opened up.
Rob Hall Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Front looks like it would have to be scratchbuilt. Rear bumper also reminds me of how a beetle bumper would look smoothed out and mounted flush.
bobthehobbyguy Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Personally I would use evergreen and make your own.
The Junkman Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Front end has a bit of the Austin-Healey 3000 to it but you would have to pull back/lay down the grill somewhat.
CJ1971 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Might be an idea to email the builders/company that built it, Matt? They'd obviously know how & what they made it from? ??
Modelmartin Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Personally I would use evergreen and make your own. ^^^^^ Yes. It is very easy to do and those are simple shapes. I think you would find it easier and cheaper than trashing another kit in an effort to make something else fit.
Agent G Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Personally I would use evergreen and make your own. X2 G
