Greg Myers Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Think I got the most famous ones. Can you identify them ? This one's not a "Gull Wing" but still interesting. I had a student that had one. Great, I get to drive it. NO, couldn't fit inside, either seat.

Greg Myers Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Yes, man was I bummed. There were so many different cars the students brought in, this one was way out. I fit in the seat but being 6'5" the lid wouldn't close.

Ace-Garageguy Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) One of the Howmet turbine cars, obviously, and a Lola Mk6 GT, the immediate forerunner to the Ford GT40. But I think your orange Merc C-111 up there is one of the most beautiful prototypes ever built. Powerful, purposeful and clean, the lines are just as strong today as they were in 1969. Greg Myers Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 I followed them through out their presentation in Road and Track back in the day, was always disappointed they never made production.
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Kinda sad how they wouldn't let the ugly little development mule sit up front with the pretty cars.
The Junkman Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Two with Cortina tail lights. The blue one at least appears to be a Lola GT, a stepping stone on the way to the GT40. For that I'm prepared to forgive it. While on the subject, note the tail lamps of the majority of GT40s. Note a certain similarity to the tail lamps of a distinctive rear engine, air cooled, GM product? Edited September 18, 2014 by The Junkman

checkmate Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Holden van "Invader 2001", featured gullwing doors built in the 80's by a mate of mine.
Modelmartin Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 many of these gull wingers remind me of the old saying, "Just because you can does not mean you should!"
Jantrix Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I can't tell you why but man I have always loved gull wing doors. They just look awesome.
