Mackvision Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I want a few of those sleepers for up-coming projects, kinda curious to know how well the chrome will hold up at the attachment points, when you cut it off the sprues?..................................................Mark
Force Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) Lucky dog. 1 of these days I'll get 1. Yes they are not that easy to find at decent prices, the one I got wasn't that bad tho'. Just picked this today. I got one of those the other week...forgot about that. Edited February 14, 2015 by Force
metalhead Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I have an Italeri FLD-120 and a Ford Aeromax 120 coming this week. Won them real cheap on Ebay. Looks like I might win a Constellation as well.
trick my mixer Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Be real careful when you cut the parts off the sprue on the re-issue mercury sleeper. the connect points are big and when you cut them off they leave that big white spot where they were connected . I sprayed my first one with clear coat to help keep finger prints off. it also helped to tone it down a bit. next one will be sprayed with dull coat to give an aluminum look......

Jim B Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 So, I scored this Italeri IVECO Stralis the other day from Hobby Link, and I got a great deal. It was only $40! Now that I have the kit, can anyone tell me a little bit about this truck? I'm not that familiar with European trucks. I just got it because it looks cool. What year is it? Does anyone know what type of engine is in the kit truck? Inquiring minds want to know! So here is the response from Italeri when I asked them about the year & the engine: "Dear Sir, thank you for your mail, herewith we inform you that the Iveco produced this truck in the year 2008 and the engine was a cursor. Best regards, Italeri S.p.A."
tbill Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 interesting engine choice, lol. so, is it a 6 cyl cursor, or........?
Repstock Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I don't have a picture, but I just purchased the ATL issue of the GMC Astro 95 off craigslist for $5.00. It was sealed but a bit crushed and dirty, so I opened it to see how bad it was damaged, and there was NO damage, the chrome was still shiny, and the decals had just the slightest yellowing. I thought it was a pretty cool find. As a side note, when I called the lady, she told me it was first come, first served. After I got off work, I went to her house and picked it up. As I was leaving, I saw a truck with a driver looking like he was searching for an address. He pulled into the driveway I had just pulled out of.

tbill Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 it's a wonder there are any cool kits left to be had the way we all hoard them.....er, I mean collect them....
Petetrucker07 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 (edited) I hear ya Tom. The trailer is goin in stash, the Dodge I may trade and possibly the Pete. Guess it depends on what's offered. I may even trade that little Ford COE too if an offer catches my attention. Edited February 20, 2015 by Petetrucker07
