Scottnkat Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 This is the Revell release of the Ford GT40 MKII #98 driven at the Daytona 24 Hours race back in 1966. I think it's a repackaging of the old Fujii kit. This is a curbside kit so there's no engine. It was built box stock without anything special. It was fun.
JTalmage Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Very cool! I have this same kit... built it many many many years ago probably before I knew what I was doing.
Maxicoop Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 sweet, I built one of these when I was much younger ..... seeing your beautiful build makes me want to get another one !!!!
bbowser Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Very cool! American brute force applied to the european racing scene, gotta love it
PatW Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 That looks great. It takes me back when I first saw them on the track.
jrherald420 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I have this kit screaming "build me now!!!" How were the decals being so old?
Scottnkat Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Thanks, everyone. James, I had copied the decals and was prepared to print out new ones if needed, but the kit decals went on without trouble.
Speedfreak Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Nice looking car Scott. Did you paint the wheels? They look great.
Scottnkat Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Thanks, guys. Yes, Gene, the wheels were painted Alclad pale gold.
Scottnkat Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Thank you, everyone. I'm happy with how it came out.
