Another ebay gluebomb. This one arrived brush painted gold and flat black 2 tone, with blue interior . I stripped in Purple Power and primed it with Tamiya Grey primer with Dupli-color Dark Toreador Red top coat and 4 coats of Testors Wet Look Clear and the windshield was painted with very light coats of Tamiya Clear Blue. I had to order the hood, tail lights, wheelcovers, hood ornament and convertible top boot from The Modelhaus. I painted the interior the same as the body color and used automotive pin stripe on the seats. The tires are from the original kit.

Thanks for looking.

Is that Toreador Red a Ford Pickup color? Nice save by the way! Got any pics of what you started with?

Thank you guys. Greg the can says it's a Ford color. I don't have any before photo's. As soon as the gluebombs arrive, I take the apart and into the Purple Power they go for piant stripping. I have to remember to take before pictures from now on.

Another beauty Al!! Here's another one I have to get to one of these days. I have the hardtop version. I've even already had the chrome parts re-plated. Just haven't gotten around to building it yet. Very nice! Steve

That is one nice build and again, it warms my old heart to see another Dumpster escapee!!!! The car looks VERY nice and clean and I would like to ask if you would be so kind as to post some more photos and interior shots. The styling, color and wide whites give the car an elegant look that just is not found on newer cars. Congratulations on saving another oldy that others would have thrown away, chopped up or otherwise robbed of its original beauty and character. An excellent save and another quality build.

And by the way, yes, it would be so appreciated to see the pictures of these models when you get them. I've found that we tend to forget how bad some of these models are when we first get them but progress photos help us to really appreciate within ourselves the transformation that we make possible. Even if I know that a project that I buy is a long ways down the list of priorities, I try to remember to photograph it as it is when it arrives and I take it out of the box. I wonder how many of us here would like to see the before pictures of the saved old buildups..??? I know that I always enjoy seeing the transformation from "street girl to princess and beauty queen". Thanks for sharing.

Love to see gluebomb saves. Great colors on this one. That slotcar track looks pretty cool too.

X2! That track brings back some memories.

Beautiful classy build Al. I have used that color great choice. What size pin strip did you use?? Love the build..

Thanks everyone. I got the pin striping at Pep Boys, it's the double stripe, wide and thin. The width is about 1/8" and you get 20' for $6.95.

That's great work! I also love to see the old glue bombs given the beauty treatment they always deserved. I've done a couple myself but it might be time to do some more!
