kilrathy10 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) Got this T600 going, and I'm gonna try to use my feeble skills to build it a little closer to the correct length.....I figure a 1" stretch ought to do it......Here's what I got, so far..... Edited November 23, 2014 by kilrathy10
towman1271 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 I have total faith that you will accomplish your plans...
Petetrucker07 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Looks good so far. Itll be a very nice addition to the fleet
Jim B Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Looking nice. Figured you would have corrected the hood and front & rear suspension as well.
tbill Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 looking forward to seeing this one come together, love the color as well
kilrathy10 Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) Thanks, Guys....You, know, James, I've looked around for some pics of T600's here and there and I really didn't see much wrong with the hood, but I think that's beyond my skill set to do anything with that, anyway.....As for the suspension....Again, just beyond me....I'll have to do with what's in the box.....To be honest, I just want to get close, so I can get to building the trailer I have planned for this thing..... But thanks for the input....You guys are great with the encouragement....This time, though, I think I'm gonna stay on the intermediate modeler side of things......I still have one more Ant Eater, though....Maybe next time.... Old Buckaroo Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Looking good JT, if you wanted to update the rear suspension a snap kit makes a great donar for the 8 bag air ride. I am with you though - dang if I can see what is wrong with the hood - but then I never really looked at the newer trucks that close other then opening the hood and closing it after needed repairs.
Trucker Al Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Great so far! Can't wait to see it finished!! Alex
Brinx Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Looking good JT, I like how you addressed the side skirts, That was one problem I had and kept me from stretching the wheel base to something that would allow a trailer. On another note, its always great to see another orange rig coming out of your shop!
Chris guthro Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Looks awesome! Great touch on the skirts
Mopar - D Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 JT looking good and of course it's orange. So are you going to let in on what the trailer is going to be.
Sam I Am Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Ok, so its Orange, whats the big deal? I do have one question, why do you call it an Ant Eater ?
hooknladderno1 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 JT, Another AWESOME build! Your build is clean, your paint is flawless! You are an inspiration! David
TRaymo Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) He says of course it's orange cause JT does near about all his trucks orange. And they call them ant eaters cause they were the first aerodynamic truck and people thought they looked goofy like an anteater long slender nose. Good lookin truck JT I have one in the box planning a big 110" ICT sleeper and makin it a bed bugger setup. You have the Allied fleet. I'll have to do Bekins or United Edited November 5, 2014 by TRaymo
Sam I Am Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Thanks for the explanation of the "ant eater". I appreciate it. I also know about JT's love affair with orange and was just poking fun. My T600 will be turned into a T800 Dump truck.
Tesla Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Looking good JT! I've heard this kit can be challenging.
redneckrodder Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Alot of the t600's i see around here don't have that part of the skirt that rounds out in front of the duals...most have been cut off and they don't actually look that bad...i've been wanting to get a t600 even though everyone complains about all the issues with it...my trouble is finding one for cheap enough...anyways lookin good JT...what trailer will this beast be pulling...it would look pretty nice in front of a step deck skateboard...
kilrathy10 Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Got a bit more done over the weekend.....I've swapped the suspension with the snap KW's and added Moebius wheels and tires.....This is a minor update, but I figured I'd post it, anyway.... The fuel tank brackets have always puzzled me.....I'm not sure what they want you to do, but I just improvised and did them this way.....I just hope it works.....It looked good after test fitting the tanks to it, but We'll see..... kilrathy10 Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Hoping to get more done, tomorrow.....We'll see.... I thought I had that seam taken care of, but, as you can see, it's still there.....Not sure I'm gonna worry about it, though....It won't be seen with the fairings on, anyway..... Edited November 11, 2014 by kilrathy10
truckabilly Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Isn“t there always a seam on a real tank too? Probably facing the frame rail but anyway... Just wondering.
Tesla Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 JT, it's good to see you changed the rear suspension...wise choice! Everything looks great! The Revell snap kits are a good source for parts.
