I never thought i'd be buying a tapestry but here we are. this hung in either my great aunt or grannies house and when i found it in a junk shop i just had to buy it as they both had dementia so this is something of theirs that doesn't have sad memories assosiated with it. either way it was done by granny as she gave these as gifts. when i picked it up today my sisters words cant be posted but i'm sure you can guess them, lol.

So how’s it working out? Would it really go up to 150 psi?

It should, but I don't need it to go that high. I ride a mountain bike. They only need like 25 to 30 psi.

Several stainless socket head capscrews in lengths not available locally.

Excellent quality for a very good price with free delivery, from Fastenere.

3/8-16 x 3-1/2" Socket Head Cap Screws Allen Drive Stainless Steel Bolt Qty 10

And a roll of heat-shrink tape that's devoid of adhesive, and not anywhere as user-friendly as the great stuff that used to be available from Radio Shack.

Heat-shrink tape is particularly useful when building custom wiring harnesses where branches sprout from the main wiring bundle, and you want a permanent un-sticky solution that won't let go and unravel over time, but if it's not self-adhesive, installation is much more time consuming and just about requires you to grow a third hand.

The alternative, self-vulcanizing sticks-to-itself tape, is easier to use, but it tends to be considerably thicker, and makes klugeier looking junctions.

I'm disappointed in this product from one of my regular electrical component suppliers, Sherco.

Black Heat Shrink Tape 1" x 180' (60 Yards) x .13 MM - Choose 1 Roll or 5 Sleeve

I know that.👍 The woman had some machinist tools and boxes of carbide inserts as well, I let her know those were in very nice shape and worth real money. If she had the complete set of wrenches I would have come out of my pocket for a fair amount. I look for bargains,I'm not greedy.

Broke down and sprung for a new semi-decent Epson inkjet printer.

I'll be having to supply printed wiring diagrams and service documentation for everything new in both the DeLorean and the '66 Chevelle...and it's a lot.

My older Epson appears to have dried ink clogging the delivery passages from 2 of the ink cartridges to the head, and though it's probably fixable with a little applied patience, to jell with it for now.

And I HAD to get a printer that had a hardwired option, and was compatible with my old Win7 machine where all my photos live.

NOTE TO SELF: Print a few multicolor pages every week with the new one...

Whatsamatta you? You don't like unnecessarily bloated code that's probably 5 times more complex than it needs to be to get the job done, and that you're forced to buy if you want to maintain factory "support" for all the bugs and glitches and security holes they left in it because they were in such a hurry to get it to market and MAKE you buy it?

Support for Windows 10 ends in October, by the way.

and I just got my Win10 computer about 2 years ago........ When it's time to update, I 'know a guy' who sells cleaned/refurbished desktop units pretty reasonable..........

Yup. I've never bought a new computer.

They've all be either hand-me-downs from friends who just had to have the latest-greatest, or trade-in refurbs.

Kinda like my approach to daily transportation. I refuse to pop for a tool that is designed to become obsolete, and computers are for the most part the textbook definition of planned-obsolescence.

Closest I ever got to a new one was a build of a 95 machine from new components back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

OEM NOS Delco Rochester 2G/GC multikit. Supposed to service most Rochester 2G carbs. The 2GC has a choke and is the standard 2bbl on many '60s GM low-performance applications. It's also frequently the center, primary carb on 3X2 setups...and is required for my fancy-dancy 3X2 manifold for my '63 394 Olds.

The non-choke 2G is used for the end, secondary carbs on Rochester 3X2 setups.

Sadly, the last aftermarket kit I bought from a "reputable" source had a plastic accelerator pump cup that turned to goo in less than 2 years.

Apparently, ethanol MAY be the culprit, so I need to do further research before I build the carb.

"Ethanol resistant" cups are available, but you never know what kind of bottom-of-the-barrel plastics our "offshore" manufacturing buddies will slip in to make a few more rice-grains of profit.

The follow-through required to be a non-chimp mechanic takes experience, knowledge, thought, time, and effort, and it's no surprise so very few bother.

I also sprung for the head set for the little Neon, and I'll start building her junkyard head, on the bench, on Friday.

Though the head that's on the engine definitely has one or more bent valves, and between the two heads there are probably enough valves do git 'er runnin', my SOP is usually to replace all the exhaust valves whenever I do a head...but that practice came from my aircooled days. They're about $12 a pop fer the Neon (but there are 8), they're available overnight locally, and are relatively cheap insurance...assuming they're not Chinese potmetal. HOWEVER...since there are 8, I'll be looking carefully at the condition of what's in the junk head before I spring for noobies.

I'd prefer to build the head 100% on the bench BEFORE I remove the head that's on the engine in the car.

Got a new bike yesterday, a cannondale quick cx 3. This is the first bike ive ever had that had hydraulic brakes, I had no idea they made those for bikes. Rides pretty nice, I wanted something I could ride on road and off, and this does just that perfectly.20250629_212225.jpg.04c65b960d9dc9a95ea74a937499d936.jpg

I've wanted this since it was first published. I had bought "Gasser Wars" from Larry Davis when he first mentioned it on SLM on Yahoo Groups. Then life happened... all these years later I have rebought that and finally have gotten his Super Stock book.

Oh wait, I guess it's kinda model related after all. Never mind. I've gotten nothing today.
