Maindrian Pace Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Who knew that Goo Gone could shine up paint! You learn something new every day. -MJS
landman Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 Tom Geiger, that's two sided tape in post #144. It is on the way to the car that the dropping & flying off occurred.
w451973 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 It's coming along real nicely. Two thumbs up.
landman Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) Added the firewall, radiator and decals. Managed to damage both GTA stripes, thought I'd have to use the GT stripes from the kit for a while. Had a terrible time placing the PE grille insert. Ended up smearing with glue, stripping & repainting twice. With all this handling, I succeeded to nick the foil in a few places. Rad hoses, battery cables left to install. Exhaust tips & mirrors. I see Joe has pinned his mirrors. I might do that to prevent more smearing. There is nothing like positive location for an old shaky hand. Edited December 14, 2020 by landman
mustang1989 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Tom and Pat: Thanks for the tip on the PE parts cut out on tape. Never thought of it but it's a great idea! Pat that lil' Stang of yours looks better every day. I really like that whole grill assembly!! Goo Gone for shining? Who knew??
landman Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 Maybe it'll turn gray over time, or wrinkle the paint. We'll just have to wait.
landman Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) Das ist der glue bomb, completed. As soon as I can take some decent photos I'll paste her under glass. Edited December 14, 2020 by landman
Twokidsnosleep Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Hardly a glue bomb Great looking version of your 1:1
landman Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 Have a look at the Under Glass section.
mustang1989 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I really enjoyed following this one Pat and have learned some things along the way.
