70mach1 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 It's hard to believe this came out of an AMT box. This kit is very well engineered and detailed. Unusually high parts count and plenty of delicate pieces and some of the best chrome I have ever seen. Nice and smooth with no dirt at all. I was really impressed and it went together with no problems at all, but it needed a few scratch-built details. Refinished in DuPont lacquers; engine wired and plumbed; scratch built fuel pump and fuel filter, throttle and choke cable, generator, and distributor, and ignition coil. Scratch built interior door handles and window cranks, shifter, parking brake lever, trunk hold down straps and side lift handles. Very enjoyable, but time consuming build. Spent about a month doing it. I realllly like these old kits. I wish the old time engineers were still around; we need more kits like this.
sjordan2 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Is this a re-post? I seem to recall the teddy bear. In any case, I love to see these old-timers being built stock, and this is very well done.
rmvw guy Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Very nice build, I agree well engineered. Is this from the Conniisseur Classics series? The colors look perfect.
1930fordpickup Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) This was an MPC kit from the start. That is why it is so nice for time it came from. Also this is a fine example of this car. Edited December 14, 2014 by 1930fordpickup
Harry P. Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 This is deja vu all over again. I remember seeing this one a few weeks ago,
Dominik Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) Yes, i remember the bear behind the steeringwheel. Like your Ford. Looks really nice. Edited December 15, 2014 by Dominik
bbowser Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Nice! Fords weren't the only ones built in '32.
geetee66 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Very nicely built. Sharp looking model. The dash dials look good
Rusty Irons Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 That is a clean machine! The colors go together very nicely! Well done!
jdean Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 is that kit still available ?? would love to build one Ronnie
bonehead23 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I never considered a stock one, but I had several of these kits including a delivery van...but I just could not build them stock.
Krazy Rick Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) Very clean job - nice color combo, I've seen way too many of these kits get hacked, with no consideration of style - it's a pleasure to see a stock one done up right - thanks Andy Edited December 17, 2014 by Krazy Rick
