am73grand Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Been crazy around here the past few weeks but I was able to finish this one too. This is another box stock type build. I made a few changes. First was to cut the skirts off. Then I swapped out the kit hubcaps for a set of Pontiac Rally II wheels out of an MPC Ventura. Tires are the new AMT parts pack Goodyears. Paint is Testors lacquer Nassau Blue with Testors Wetlook clear. Thanks for looking!
atomicholiday Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) Very nice build. Nice & clean. I LOVE old Pontiacs. What kit is this from? Edited January 24, 2015 by atomicholiday
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 That's just plain nice Ron! Great work! Steve
w451973 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Thats beautiful. Now whats that hiding in the upper right hand corner of that first and third pic ? Have you seen these ? http://users.boardnation.com/~abodysite/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=10232;start=0;boardseen=1 http://users.boardnation.com/~abodysite/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=10231
om617 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Looks really good with the blue and no skirts on. There is a white where i live, with the skirts and saggy on the rear. I`m tempted to show him this post so he see the potential lol. Great job.
disabled modeler Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 looks nice love the 67-70 Bonnevilles....looks like a Grand Am in the upper right corner of the 3rd photo...cool!
DeeCee Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Very nicely done, paint and interior came out a treat.
am73grand Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 Thanks guys!! I really appreciate your feedback! This is an original MPC kit. It had the required busted windshield frame and the tip of one rear quarter was missing but other than that it was a nice mint kit. And yes that IS a resin '73 Grand Am in the back round. It's a NASCAR body. I'm going to convert it to a Pro-Mod body for a drag car build. Looks like I'm going to have to check out those other ones! I've got a '68 Bonny in line to be built as well.
slusher Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Simply beautiful Ron. Love the color and white interior man. Very clean. I really love the 60's Pontiacs...
satterwhite78 Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Awesome....definitely could see that rolling down the highway in the day!

I have the 68,69 and a 70 HT that needs parts so i can restore them....love these big old Pontiacs.
peekay Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 That is really really nice! I also love the 60s Pontiacs but only have the affordable ones!
unclescott58 Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Very nice. Built the '70 when Model King reissued it a few years ago. but, I always liked the '69 better. Scott
Robberbaron Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Great build. Good call on the Rally II wheels and no skirts.
