yellowsportwagon Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 AJ led all but 33 laps of the 1972 Daytona 500 and won in this Wood brothers car.
1930fordpickup Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Looks very good. The Wood Brothers my favorite team.
James2 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 A great tribute to two of the best that ever raced...
jwrass Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Tim, Fantastic build!!!! Foyt is my hero!!! My Daughters name is Amanda Jane and we call her A.J. I was at Indy (77) when he Won number four and the place was a mad house! Any chance of seeing more pictures (under carriage etc) what can you say about the Wood brothers that already hasn't been said! For Colin Chapmen to come to Indy and have the Wood brother service Jimmy Clarks Car that speaks volumes. Get job Tim!!!! Jimmy "RASS"
Nacho Z Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Very nice, Tim. You nailed the ride height. Looks great!
afx Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Nice work Tim. Did you use the kit chassis or something else?

yellowsportwagon Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Nice work Tim. Did you use the kit chassis or something else? I used a Polar Lights Talledega chassis.Had to shorten the front frame horns and the engine cage.Used PPP wheels and AMT 90's NASCAR tires. The tires aren't right for this era but they look great. I'll post more pictures tomorrow.

Lunajammer Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Wow you really got this right. This along with Petty's 72 Road Runner are my two favorite Nascars. They just scream beef.
Silver Foxx Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 A terrific looking build , great stance , looks so right .
Truck parts Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Is the body a resin or a kit ? Great build
yellowsportwagon Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) The body is a model king issue of the old MPC kit.l made the block off plate for the tailights and added other small details. Edited February 19, 2015 by yellowsportwagon
MG Brown Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 This is on my "to build" list using the recently reissued Cyclone, Powerslide Decals and chassis from the 1969 Mercury Stock Car kit.
mikemopar70 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Nice Build, i Like the colors and body style of this Nascar!!
