DR JAY Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but during another sleepless night transitioning between night and day shifts I found this and thought I'd share the link. It's the home made result of teenage boys, a Brownie camera and model collections combining over 2 months in 1971. I thought it was pretty cool...
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Remarkable piece of stop-motion work, especially considering who did it. It's as good as some of the Ray Harryhausen "Dynamation" effects before CGI.
bbowser Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Wow! How many 15 year olds have the patience to produce something like this? Pretty cool.
62rebel Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 ab-so-lutely awesome. i used to sneak my Mom's camera to take pictures of models and wait for the ... fallout, later on... sometimes the pictures came long after the model was toast. (impatient kid, i was)... come to think of it, i have a picture of some of my builds from around 1978 or 79.... gotta dig em up.
Miatatom Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 That's an amazing job. I sent the link to my granddaughter to get her reaction. She's becoming a whiz at editing. I'm sure she'll be impressed since my son, her Dad, was only 4 when you put it together.
yellowsportwagon Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 That is cool.I wonder if any of those models survive today? Tim
Ben Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 That was too cool!!! Loved it! I like when Petty's engine came "unglued" LOL
TooOld Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 That was very entertaining ! I don't normally watch posted videos all the way thru but this one was worth watching !
wrecker388 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 That was very cool. I wouldn't have the patience to do one turn, let alone a whole race.
randx0 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 That is almost better than actual race footage . Very impressive. I really liked the people in action.
Casey429 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing with us!
TimKustom Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 As others have said, this is an amazing video. I found and contacted the creator of it. He said the people were pipe cleaners with hand made uniforms and clay heads!
Intmd8r Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Amazing work considering the technology (lack of) in '71. The dedication to the project - wow. 2 months is a long time for such a short film. Think how far we've come where kids are uploading pics & "selfies" instantly from their phones to Twitter and all that other stuff. My 1 & 3 year old know how to navigate YouTube better than I do?
Truck parts Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's way to cool , Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
