I would love to see and buy it as long as it's not too current or up with the times. I'm just not a big fan of the new car trends. As for K and B, I love them

Please bring CARtoons back. Have Krass and Bernie back in there. Unk and the Varmints would be cool too. Some new stuff, but I'm more with Dennis on that. Please make it come out every other month, and I'll subscribe.

Now the "new owner" is asking for donations to get it up and going. My internal scam alert is going off.

It looks like the Facebook page is by an individual who says he is speaking for the "new owner" who is never identified . If you scroll down to one of his earlier posts he says "and George Trosley is involved" so this page is not George Trosley's !

So if someone knew how to contact George Trosley maybe he could give a little insight to the new owner and the donation situation. Just to make sure it's not a scam.

I dropped Trosley a note and here's his reply:

" The guy now owns the CARtoons logo and wants to put the magazine back on the newsstand ....we'll see what happens.... Troz "

That was the only comment... didn't say he was involved, looks like he's taking a 'wait and see' response.

Note that the guy was looking to raise a million dollars, but had $55 in pledges on the funding website.

I think I can safely say we aren't going to be seeing cartoons magazine. I would be curious to see the crowding proposal. Can't image what he thinks he needs a million dollars for. Printing a magazine shouldn't cost that much. Also I doubt that a niche magazine is going to have that big of a following.

Here's the proposal:

You can see he's quite a ways from his goal!

Yeah, I think the million dollar goal is a tongue-in-cheek pipe dream. He had to put a number in there but had no idea what it should be.

The proposal really pie in the sky.

Needs to have more details how much for artists, what will publishing costs be, etc.

The monetary goal should be more realistic. It would make more sense to start on a smaller scale and then crowdfund for expanding later. At current rate he might get a couple thousand pledged in the remaining 26 days for the campaign.

Bottom line this is destined to fall. Either he has no business sense or he is just having fun , however the end result will be the same.

Did a little more research on this. The method chosen for funding the cartoons magazine will give whatever money collected to the person that started the campaign regardless of the goal being meet.. Most crowdfunding says you need to meet your goal to get the money to use which is the other option for the chosen crowdfunding site.

Seems to me that answers a lot of questions about this endeavor.

Heck with it. I went on Trosley's web site and ordered his Krass and Bernie book. I'm not sending my money to some guy in hopes that he can deliver a magazine down the road.

Well the original crowdfunding pledge is over and $367 was all that was pledged. Another pledge drive but this time for 150k. The proposal has been improved to show what the plan is. Still seems like a lofty goal for a niche magazine at a time when it is getting harder to find magazines in the retail market.

I wish him all the luck with his endeavor.

Just finished reading the digital copy of issue #0. Very, very kool! I loved it. I found myself chuckling out loud several times. Man, it's so cool to have CARtoons back! Just turned 58 today, and I felt like a kid, reading the latest issue. Thank you to the who bought this back. It was a great birthday gift.

Okay, I'm excited.  :)  My grandparents used to buy me one of these when we'd go to the store.  After all the moves, I lost all my back issues.  So I'll definitely be getting a subscription to this again.  :)
