Clarkson had it coming, he thought that whatever he did he was invincible. He's an arrogant nasty piece of work in real life, has no respect for the public, his neighbours are sick of his loud noisy antics and disregard for the rules of the road. He recently rented a Hummer and went into his local High Street just to show off and got it stuck between two road signs in a very narrow road, he did no more than get out and walk away, leaving the whole town centre grid locked. When he was approached by both pedestrians and police alike he just shouted at them to 'F... Off!, very nice in front of children.

If we don't see him on TV again it will be a pleasure! As for his two sidekicks they just follow him around like two lovesick puppies!

Patrick, I had just started watching episodes on Netflix. The only part of the show I like is the celebrity lapping. He is such a knob and for that reason I stopped watching..

Of course he is replaceable , but I doubt that replacement will bring in 350 million viewers .

You are right and I wouldn't watch it without him.

All over the Press on Sunday here in the UK, was the news that the Director-in-Chief of the BBC and his family are under armed guard after a death threat, if Clarkson is dropped from the programme!

How stupid is this getting over a TV programme?

They all SEEM to be nice guys but don't be fooled.

Bad news on TV last night, the BBC have backed down and are to continue with another show with these idiots but under another name! And we thought that it was gone at last!

The only name change and this is what I think you are talking about is the "Top Gear Live" show, which was not own or operated by the BBC, only the name Top Gear, the show's name has been changed to CHM, or , Clarkson, Hammond, and May Live, no BBC branding can be used , the show is put on by Brand Events.

And, no its not bad news, its good news for the people that purchased tickets to these shows, and are fans of Top Gear.

If you are talking about the TV show, the BBC said they are working on bringing Top Gear back for 2016, there is still no confirmed reports that James May and Richard Hammond have renewed their contracts that expired at midnight on the 31st of March.

What has been confirmed is that the remaining three episodes for series 22 are being merged into two specials that will be without any of the studio segments.

Sorry to hear BBC has backed down. In my book a big mistake. Clarkson will end up costing them big in the long run. He is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

How did they back down?

MartainFan from this post sounds like they are still going to deal with Clarkson and company. Ifvthats not backing down what is.

If that is the case we know what BBC is its just the price is being negotiated.

And I clearly explained what is going on, and he never explained what he is talking about.

I am dont understand why you said company, they did nothing wrong.

Read post #89, that will explain everything that is going on up to this current moment that has been publicly reported .

Is this real? Or an April Fools joke? How reliable was your source? I'm having a little bit of a hard time believing it since you post this on April 1st.

As Jonathan says, it's not that complicated, and the BBC hasn't "backed down".

There's a touring live show, in which May, Hammond and Clarkson do things with cars, "the news" and all the other shtick they do on the TV, plus some bits they CAN'T do on the TV (lads humour turned up to 11). Up until now, that's been done with the BBC's permission, and they have licensed and used the "Top Gear" brand, so it's been called "Top Gear Live" all around the world. Now, the BBC won't let them use the "Top Gear" name, so that live show, which has nothing to do with the BBC, is going ahead under the name "Clarkson, Hammond and May Live" (in tribute, I'm sure, to Anderson, Wakeman and Howe... or Crosby, Stills and Nash ;-P). This means that all the people who've already bought tickets can still go to see the show...

In other news, the BBC has said that Top Gear, the TV programme, will continue. And that it's going to be hard to make it work. The only thing that's sure about THAT is that Clarkson will not be in it.

As James May says in that interview, repeatedly, and remarkably politely, no one knows any more than that at the moment.

bestest,

M.

If you read all there Twitter feeds, the three of them worked well, and Hammond and May have said they won't be doing TG without Clarkson, so if the BBC are going to carry on with TG, they have a huge amount of work to make it work and to bring in the same amount of viewers, myself I just can't see it happening.

The BBC hasn't backed down, and what Jonathan posted is true, the BBC didn't run the "Live" shows, but they used the TG name, which has already been said, the BBC won't let them use the name, but the live shows are going ahead, so many people had already bought tickets for the shows they had booked.

I can see in the future the three of them doing something together, what it will be could only be a guess .....

Yes, there was supposed to be a live show now in late march (I think) here in Norway that was cancelled/postponed and is now on again in June I think as the Clarkson, Hammond and May Live show. Maybe they will continue using that name for a new tvshow on some other channel?

"The Clarkson, Hammond and May show".....doesn't sound to bad that.
