I wonder why? Looks like you got the electric one and there's a battery unit too. heatride Posted March 1, 2012 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I dont usually get impressed over the hobby tools that I buy..but this thing is incredible..well worth the $50 I spent on it. I thought for sure I had a few hundred dollars worth of paint that had gone bad...5 minutes on this babyt and it's like new again. The caps that I could not open because the paint had sealed them were also worked loose by the vibration. Highly Recommended! I didnt even know they made such a critter as that ! There's a guy in town that's moving out west and doesn't want to haul all his models with him anymore. If he doesn't sell off all his 1:25 stuff (he has a bunch of larger scale he's keeping) then he's going to let me know and I can probably get what he has left for dirt cheap. A package from HLJ awaits me at the post office which I'll have to wait until Saturday to pick up (Aoshima '78 Mitsu Galant Eterna (Dodge Challenger) and Fujimi Pantera GTS). jayhkr Posted March 2, 2012 Share Posted March 2, 2012 If you have a hand held jig saw you can pretty much make your own. I went to Harbor Freight and bought their $2.00 squeeze clamp, filed down the end so it would fit where the saws usually go in the jig saw and whalla, I paint shaker. I do notice that if I run my full blast for over 15 seconds the bottle comes loose but I always have something under it just in case. Jdurg Posted March 2, 2012 Share Posted March 2, 2012 I got a very nice surprise today. Earlier this week, I bought from Amazon.com an MPC 1988 1/16th scale Corvette Convertible. The shipping estimate for the kit said that it would get here on the 7th of March. So I was COMPLETELY surprised when during the middle of the day I got a knock on the door and it was the Mailman with a nice large box to give me. Opened it up and there was my still fully sealed MPC Kit. It was all in great shape and has made me so happy. I have wanted to build a larger scale modern Vette for a long time, but only knew of the 1/8th scale kit from Monogram (I think it was them, or Revell) and that's just a tad bit too large for me. 1/16th is a great size for me. Plus, it's the same scale as the 1963 coupe I'm almost done with. I like this MPC kit because it has opening doors which saves me the hassle of having to build that myself. For customizing, I think I'm going to open up the soft-top lid and put a rolled up cloth top in there, or if I can, figure out how to make it functional and unwrap it and turn it into a fully working soft-top. Hmm...... I just got an idea. I just wish there was a photo-etch detail set for a kit of this size as I want to sand off the molded in badges so that I don't have to worry about them when painting. Got BOTH Kammback kits, the Datsun 240Z Revell which I've never seen before, the '78 Corvette Pace Car, an Alternomod Caprice, the '71 Dodge Charger street machine, the '68 El Camino, and the Fujimi MR2 tucked inbetween the Celica Supra and Efini RX-7. All 4 kits are complete and never started. 2nd. was the new Fujimi tools 2 kit. very cool kit. I will be placing an order for set #1 as soon as I can get some money saved up so I can order a few of them. only thing I don't like about set #2 is that the books are molded into the bookshelf. 3rd. was the old barn plans book. The owner had taken a Johan Maverick box, with a Pinto drag car inside. With a little haggling, I bought it for twenty dollars.
