MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. The (so-called) news can go away - same old tripe for many years, run ad nauseam.
  2. '67 was the year when many of my favourite albums were released
  3. Just a spank more than what I paid for the first issue some 36 years ago .
  4. Neighborhood animals are oftentimes welcome visitors and de facto companions
  5. I seem to recall seeing a post which mentioned the re-issue of the Monogram-come-Revell 1/12 scale 1969 Zed , which was last issued with the Foose livery as an option. Any news on this reissue ? I don't want to miss it this go 'round !
  6. My friend's chaton , "Metro" (a placeholder name). She's was born earlier this year (actual birth date is unknown), and ended up as a stray in the lot of the Los Angeles Transportation repair & service yard (heretofore , "Metro") where my friend picked her up (mum's no where to be found). Without further ado...
  7. Video footage from Chrysler's lesser-known Los Angeles (Maywood - City of Commerce these days) Assembly . It was situated at 5800 S. Eastern x Slauson, southeast corner - an M-E-L plant was across the street on the northwest corner. This plant closed in July 1971 after production ceased in spring ; two reasons are cited for its closure : 1.) Extensive damage from the Sylmar Earthquake on 9. Feb. 1971 2.) The plant couldn't facilitate double-stack rail shipments (trains actually entered/exited the plant on the southside of the plant) , which Chrysler was going to implement for the 1972 model year. After sitting abandoned, vandalised, and derelict for some time, the plant was demolished (I'm not sure as to what year). Enjoy !
  8. Relaxing with Ex-Lax while awaiting departure at LAX
  9. He is such a handsome "loaf" ! Happiest of birthdays , Mr. Ivan !
  10. Like my fellow board members / plastic addicts, I was wondering about @Snake45 - more frequently as of late. My sincere condolences to his family and friends ( and though I'd not met him in person, we did communicate via this (fantastic) forum ). He kindly sent to me a Tri-Power induction for the Revell 396-427 simply because I'd enquired if someone had one - helluva nice guy all around ! I hope that someone is curating his (impressive) collection of originals, "Snake-Fu'ed", and other build-ups.
  11. AMEN ! I remember when the offshoring spread like a rash in the 1990s ad sequitur. Oftentimes, there isn't much a of a price variation between the subpar garbage that's made in... well... not in the U.S. (or England, Germany, Japan, etc.) ; and in too many instances, the stuff made in China, etc., is the only option (!!). This is especially true of replacement items / parts for vehicles (brake rotors ? Guess where those are made... not to mention the frictions !). Not to mention the TKO's (Taiwanese Knock Offs) of legitimate car parts, shaving equipment, and patio furniture.
  12. FWIW, here's the instruction sheet for the SSlasher (courtesy of @Casey) : MPC The SSlasher Chevelle SS Street Machine... | Scale Auto Model Kit Reviews & Reference (proboards.com)
  13. Corvette disc brake master cylinders - prior to 1967 model year - must be obsolete
  14. Unless one only has access to "California Complaint" [sic] stuff...
