cobraman
Finished this one up today. Started with the Hasegawa VW Type 2 pick up for the body. I used the "Lil' Coffin" kit for the chassis and engine and tires and wheels. No extra detail was added. I ordered a pre wired distributor but it did not arrive till today. ( too late ). I shortened up the body and trimmed the front so it would sit lower on the chassis. Body is painted Olive Drab with a white roof. I used a piece of Bass Wood for the bed floor. The parts box supplied the bucket seats, console, shifter, moon tank. I cut down the headers and added a short piece of aluminum tubing. Comments pro or con are always welcome. bobthehobbyguy
Really nice. Pulling the body right up to the engine really made a difference. You hit the proportions just right. Like the color choice for it don't think glossy would have looked right.

Sixties Sam
Pretty cool hot rod! I like the O.D. and white color scheme - just seems right for it! The only thing I might have done different is to fill in the original front wheel wells, but they still look cool! Sam
cobraman
Thanks. I thought about that but the "real" one that I used as my inspiration left them open so I did as well.

Crazy Ed
Enjoyed watchin' this one grow and the result was worth the wait. What I found interesting was an almost parallel project on Full Custom Garage on MAVTV.
cobraman
Thanks guys. I watched those shows too. Ian's was a lot nicer. The photo I was working off of didn't show the grill or head lights so I never put them on my model.
