WORK BENCH SATURDAYS!!

Recommended Posts

The neighbors remodeled their kitchen and I was able to get some of their cabinets. That called for a total makeover of my hobby area. Now I even have the spraybooth in there with me. On the other side of the room is 16' of workbench for my stained glass - it also doubles as a staging area for my in progress kits and my molding/casting area.

Settling into new digs as far as my work area goes. Not getting much done, because I intentionally left enough room on the bench for the laptop...

But I did see a cool old Pinto wagon, AND a Scout II (the official Bigfoot hunting rig)...

I've managed to put up a tack board, to help utilize some of that wasted wall space and keep stuff off the bench and out of drawers-

And projects? Yeah, I've got a few of those...

Somehow I ended up with one of Dr. Cranky's unwanted projects, a '51 Chevy hardtop

A Turbine powered Beetle, which will probably become some kind of post Apocalyptic ride...

'32 Chrysler Truckster tub...

And the beginnings of a beater, rat rod... '95 Toyota Supra????

OK, I know it's Sunday but I haven't touch my workbench in several days.

Currently working on a Willy's.

Yeah I know, my workbench is rather simple, but it works for me.

I love the use of the pegboard guys, expecially to the side like that. Looks like its very handy.

These are some pics of my current setup. I've been through a few so far. Havent had it setup this way for long but so far so good and im not finished with it yet. And I plan on trying to enjoy it this way as much as possible cause in about a year or less i'll be moving and more then likely will have to downsize. Which is fine :D

Under the larger side of the table I have a drawer thats 3ft wide and 2ft deep that could support a build on its own or for some more storage. I plan on building another shelf next to the other one too (i think). But anyway here it is. And i'll include a couple pics of what models I have on it being worked on and whats waiting to be worked on. Thanks for looking and definately thanks to everyone for sharing.

And whats being worked on in the corner spot is the t bucket.

1hobbycorner8.jpg

To the left of the bucket waiting attention is a 66 chevy nova pro street.

1hobbycorner7.jpg

And to the right of the bucket is a 1935 Auburn Boattail Speedster.

1hobbycorner6.jpg

Idea behind the boards is so that I can pick them up and take what I may need to work on and sit on the couch or outside or something if I want and build. Or I can just move them out of the way for something else etc...

Thanks

What I've been working on today, and possibly will continue working on into the evening. Except the Rat Wrecker, that's finished!

workbench001-vi.jpg

Had to make a few repairs to my Rat Wrecker Rig- reglue the driver's mirror, replace a missing passenger mirror, and reattach the hook and chain to the boom.

workbench002-vi.jpg

Started a '57 IH wrecker a couple of days ago, and I like where its going. (Note- Ed Shaver built the boom, the rest is my doing.)

workbench004-vi.jpg

TRYING to get back into my rat rod groove...

... so I've got some inspiration up on the wall where my parts should be!
