  1. WOW! I've run some sheet through my plotter and it only scored it. That would take forever to break out all those small holes, plus I use my plotter for cutting vinyl. I wouldn't trust damaging my plotter to cut all those holes. Also being a friction feed, cutting through styrene creates a ton of drag, which can cause it not to track properly from beginning to end. Sorry can't help you out Doc. I think your best bet might be making a jig, and using a drill press. You might want to check with Davevan, I think he used to cut sheet with a laser cutter. IIRC he said it needed to be cleaned up after the cuts, but how much, I don't know.
  2. I would get a small regulator/moisture trap combo for it. I would also get an airline with 1/4" fittings on both ends. hook that airline from the compressor to the input of the regulator/trap then hook your airbrush hose to the the output of the it. This will allow the hot air to cool and let the water condensate and be caught by the trap. If you mount it right to the output of the compressor the moisture will stay in the air and come out further down the line or in the airbrush itself. Also if you have a dedicated place you paint, you can have the regulator mounted within reach. https://www.amazon.com/airbrush-regulator-moisture-trap/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aairbrush regulator moisture trap I'm not sure about your model compressor, but my older badger has a plastic "plug"with a foam filter. I removed the foam and made a larger filter/ muffler with some PVC, a plastic sour cream container and some cotton balls. It quieted the compressor a little more than just the foam plug. If you are interested, I can get some pics to show you how I made it.
  3. My razorsaw has no conscious, everything is fair game!
  4. How about a 50 Chevy P.U. crossed with a 58 T-Bird? This one stalled after I kept breaking the A pillars while trying to hinge the doors. I made the mistake of using too thin of brass rod to make the hinges. I so wanted to throw it against the wall, but I love the look of it and managed to restrain myself and put it in the box.
  5. What a great melding of sports car and hot rod! I bet that is a blast to drive on a nice summer day.
  6. I hate the drama, ridiculous personalities, and fake deadlines of most TV car shows. My favorites are the old Top Gear (yeah I know lot of it was scripted, but I found it funny), and on Youtube I like Roadkill, and Project Binky.
  7. While not very ambitious as far as restyling, I thought I would throw this one up. I was very nervous about narrowing the nose the 3/8" to fit the grille. So far it seems to be looking OK.
  8. No, I could never figure out how to do the cooling vents in the coves. I know where the body and parts are, but I have no clue as to where I put the molds for the lights, grille, grillebar, and bumpers. While my brain might be somewhat OK at coming up with ideas, the rest of it is very broken. I doubt you would want it.
  9. The chassis from the cup car looks like it was made for the Pacer. Another crazy build, you are a madman! I just drug out my Pacer Pickup I started last year and yup, it's got the same suspension you are using.
  10. Thank you Bill. I did an advanced search for TM, but got nothing as far as a seller. A resin time machine kit from the movie was the closest thing that came up. This obviously is not from the place i got the van from. Thanks again.
  11. Bill, Is the Corvair wagon decent? Or is it the slush cast mess like my van started out as?
  12. I was looking through boxes and found one of my favorite experiments.
  13. I wish I could take credit for that. Do a search for Pacer pickup. You should run across the coolest looking 1:1 blue Pacer P.U., that was the inspiration for my version. I wish the wagon version was repopped when I started mine, it would have saved a lot of work on the back.
  14. What I thought was a very appropriate name and also a song by Judas Priest, "Victim of Changes"
  15. These aren't new, but I've never shown them before. 65 Catalina fastback A Pacer Pickup
  16. It seems my van I built as a kid keeps popping up on Facebook. I wish I had access to FB, but I don't have any interest on signing up for it. I was about 19 when I built this, it's how I learned body work.
  17. That is beyond incredible. Did you build that Christopher?
  18. We need to face it, there is no fixing motorsports Hate me for saying this, but young people are just not interested in cars like us old folks. As we die off so will racing to a great extent. Will it ever die completely, I doubt it, but it's never going to regain the glory of yesteryear. Nascar's biggest problem is not the cars or teams or brand recognition. It's greed and gimmicks. Go on any short track forum and you will hear the same thing. Many of the people on these forums were fans of Nascar, but now are at best, casual followers.
  19. Russel, thank you for going to the trouble to show that to me. While that is a good idea, I'm probably going to use the stock roof and chop it. Thanks Pat, depending on the pocketbook and my mood, I might just use the body and interior tub and scratchbuild the frame and suspension. I made a fastback out of a 70 Impala, and while looking at it I realized it had almost the exact shape of the 59 Caddy, so the custom grille (which another great member here is sending me) might go into it. I'm still just collecting parts and ideas at this point.
  20. I can't see the pics. Thank you Photobucket, and to think I used to stand up for them. Thanks Art. Will the grille and rear bumper from a Revell or Monogram kit fit the ecto?
