Scale I Build

1. https://www.newcadillacdatabase.org/static/CDB/Dbas_txt/V16_ndx.htm Just about everything you could want to know about Cadillac's V-16 model. It includes, technical specs, history, and a list of surviving V-16s, with photos. Lots of inspiration if you're doing a Jo-Han Cadillac, or any classic car.
2. Hi Guys ! Here I would like to introduce you to my Cadillac Escalade. The model is by Revell USA in 1:25 scale. A nice construction kit, but in which the engine is shown only from below in the bottom plate. There are decals for different types of decorative stiffeners, the attachment requires patience. In addition, the kit has two different sets of wheels. Greetings to all from Jan
3. Links for reference. Note there is more than one type of tow truck pictured here: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/northside-performance-towing-chicago https://www.merchantcircle.com/northside-performance-towing1-chicago-il
4. Hi everyone. Yes, you've read correctly "hardtop". Although I know the brand for the last 30 years, I had never heard or seen any 1963 Cadillac Eldorado in that body version before, until a couple of years ago. Indeed, Original Part Group, Inc brought out an unbelievable and gorgeous 1963 Cadillac freshly restored for the 2014 SEMA show. According to the group, it looks like only 9 to 12 estimated units have been made at the time, knowing that Cadillac produced only Eldorado "biarritz" convertibles that year. The car is visible on the group website and on Youtube. I guess that if the car would have been made in 1963, it could have been called "Eldorado Seville". I couldn't resist to build one and this Caddy is made from a Dan Decko resin copy of the Jo-Han's Coupe DeVille kit version. Wheels and bumpers are from a kit donor. Regular trims have been sanded and I have created the new accurate "Eldorado" lower body moulding trims. A few details to find and add again such as mirrors, antenna... Hope you'll like it!
5. Hi guys ! Sharing with you today this Jo-Han's 1969 Cadillac Deville convertible, my first build of 2019. It's a promo that I have converted into the convertible version, as Jo-Han never proposed this specific model. ( just the Coupe Deville and the Eldorado ). If I recall, I think I got that promo for 3 bucks about 15 years ago because it was totally damaged. Half of the roof was gone, such as A pillars and windshield. The body looked like a cat had chew big parts of it, was full of little dents and most of the original paint was scratched. I didn't know what to do with it at the time but I couldn't let it go, so I kept it and restored it. I have detailed the interior with carpet, wood-ish inside panels, created a soft boot and added front seat's headrests and wider white walls. For the colour, I tried to get as close as its original one, such as Sapphire blue Met. Still a few details to finish yet, such as antenna, scripts and mirrors but overall this is it. Hope you'll like it.
6. Hi guys ! This time again I am sharing with you my last transformation. Another Cadillac of course!. Last fall I discovered that Hasegawa had released a new version of their "Amercian 66" Series, ( including their Coupe Deville ) into a "lowrider" series. I jumped on the occasion to buy 2 kits in order to create from them a series 75 limousine. Hasegawa's kits are not as refine as the Jo-Han's Coupe Deville of the same year, but working from Johan's 66 Caddies is inconcevable to me, since these promos or kits are very rare and really expensive. And to be honest, Hasegawa's are really good to start from. So there she is !. Chassis, B,C and D pillars, interior including passengers compartment have been modified or created of course, as well as original wheelbase. Then, all the roof have been levelled up cause limos roof were higher than regular Deville series. I have added a "vinyle-ish" top option on my model, to make it even more rare, since most of the real 66 limos were not having it. Over the last 20 years, I have seen only one model conversion like this one, without the vinyle top. So, since no Cadillac limousines have ever been made by any kit manufacturer, I guess that my model is maybe unique. It's by far the most complicated transformation I have ever done. Hope you'll like it !
7. Hi guys ! Sharing today an old built, the Cadillac Coupe De Ville 1976 by Modelhaus. As these kits are ultra rare now I just regret to have built it at a time where my skills weren't as good as they are today. I could restore it completely though. I guess this Cadillac's still presentable and worth a few pics here, don't you think ? ...Ah, If only Revell would stop doing Customs and Lowriders to offer more old "stock" american cars !
8. Hi guys. This Cadillac is a Page Resin kit. The cast was very good but needed some prep. Originally looking more like a regular DeVille series, I've turned and built it into the Fleetwood series, with lower body trims added, a matching interior and a "Brougham-ish" upholstery. Definitely one of my favourite Cadillac in my collection.
9. Hi guys, Sharing with you today an old built, made by Modelhaus. This is the '61 Cadillac Coupe series 62. It's now very very rare and I regret I haven't buy more than one at the time, to make a convertible or an Eldorado from it. I built it around 10 years ago, not pristine but presentable, IMHO. I also regret, (and I am sure I'm not the only one here), that Modelhaus is not around anymore....the quality was excellent. I am glad that they made amazing hubcaps for that model, way better that what Jo-Han's made for its 1961 Fleetwood. Enjoy !
10. Hi ! Here is my very first Cadillac conversion, made a couple of years ago. JoHan only produced Eldorado Coupes from 1971 to 1976, so I took a old "76' Eldorado Rancher" kit to make this specific version. As 1978 would be the final year for the full sized Cadillac Eldorado, I wanted to make the highest trim level. The "Custom Classic" was very distinctive with its 2 tones exterior body and also a duo-tone pillowed leather interior ( done with clay ). 2000 Classics have been built that year, only 25 with a sunroof, like my version. I unfortunately couldn't get the exact same colours at the time I built the model ( Arizona Beige and Demitasse Brown Metallic ) but I tried to get as close as I could. As she's my first conversion, some mistakes here and there..., like a missing "Eldorado" script on the front edge of the hood. Rear bumper and taillights have been modified, as well as the rear window. Shock absorber fender and trunk lines sculpted. It was so fun to do though , but putting the 1mm black line decals on fenders ?....no so much !
11. Hi everyone, Here's a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible. This beautiful resin kit was created by Shawn Carpenter, based and converted from the Monogram-Revell 59 Eldorado. I built it at least 10 years ago. This is an extremely rare kit and at the time of purchase, it was already hard to find. Although she's presentable, that Cadillac will receive a complete restauration, as my skills were so-so back then. Need a new paint, clear coat, cleaned windshield and new bare metal trims. I don't have any further informations on Shawn Carpenter nor its creations so if anyone of you have some, please feel free to share. Hope you'll like the pics. Cheers.
12. Hi everyone ! Here's one of the last conversion I have done in 2018. As JoHan Models have made Cadillac Fleetwood promos only from 1958 to 1962, since years and years I wanted so bad a 63 or 64 Fleetwood to add my Cadillac collection. So I started this one from the Convertible kit, and have used a old twisted donor model for the roof. Lower body trims are created with styrene rods and strips. Interior is not perfectly accurate, I am still learning ! She's almost done, some details to add, such as mirrors and scripts here and there... Hope you'll like it.
13. Hi, putting this pics into the good topic. Here's my personal conversion of a 1964 JoHan's Cadillac convertible into the Eldorado model. I am a beginner but I think the result is decent enough to share. Hope it'll please some of you. Thanks !
14. Hello guys, after a little longer time I would like to introduce you to my Caddi. Greetings fom Jan
15. This is one of the few cars I built that's not a Ferrari. It was built for a friend of mine who owns a 69 Cadillac Coupe Deville (I think ) The kit was a real horror story and was never going to go together stock. The agreement was he gives me the kit and I do what I want to it, this is what I came up with.
16. Hi Folks ! After a long time i am back here on the board. Today, i like to show you my `Harold and Maude `car. It was build almost two decades past , but i hope you like it. Basic kit was a Jo Han `59 Cadillac Hearse in 1/25 scale. The modification was simple .Greetings from Germany
17. Fender skirts are available now for the Foose Cadillac! These are handmade and fit perfectly to the body, however the kit tires and wheels are too wide to use once these are installed. If you're using the normal tall & skinny whitewalls they will fit fine as shown here.
18. This is my 1959 Cadillac M&M Service car. I built it 2 years ago. The body is a 1959 Cadillac M&M hearse by Jimmy Flintstone. I used the chassis & the front seats from the AMT/Ertl Ghostbusters Ecto-1A kit & the rear compartment from the Polar Lights Ecto-1 kit. I also added a partition from Three Inches Under as well as a mortuary stretcher which also came from Three Inches Under (with a little scratchbuilding). I also made the blanked-out side windows & wreaths from styrene
19. I have rarely seen these built at all as lowrider, never seen one built stock. As "big" rear-drive American sedan kits for the 21st Century are far and few between, this one had potential. Glued the flip doors shut and block sanded them flush. The suspension had to be tweaked just bit for stock ride height, and all the interior needed was some seatbelt items and a few other factory stock bits. The wheels and tires are from the concurrent Cadillac pickup kit..... Thanks for looking!
20. Although I have license plates to put on it, I'm marking this one done for now. I'm also in the market for a front script in either a decal or photoetch as I couldn't get BMF to look right. Body: Tamiya Gloss Black Top: Tamiya Flat Black Interior: Tamiya Maroon with cloth headliner Resin casket
21. Decided to get this one going. I've been too busy playing with snap-together kits and want to get back into more challenging stuff. What I've achieved so far... Tamiya Gloss Black with Flat Black vinyl top... Burgundy interior... More coming...
22. Hello modeling friends! This is is the Revell Mercury kit that's pretty amazing. From the building options to the excellent easy fitting parts. I built this kit as a gift for my brother who is an Auburn University graduate. Here is a list of the things I added or changed to the model. A lot of the ideas I got for the car came from all you guys wonderful builds. Hope there's no hard feelings!! -blended the front bumper -cut the B pilar out -smoothed the fire wall and molded in wires -wired the spark plug wires, battery, colant overflow, alternator, oil filter, and fuel lines. -upgraded to a 12v system with a new battery and alternator with custom bracket -added the clear steering wheel, metal springs up front, air cleaner and resin valve covers -paint and clear are duplicolor auto lacquer Thanks for looking and model on!!!
23. Is there a hard top available for this kit? Or do I need to buy an entire resin body just to get one? I would rather just have a roof piece if possible.
