Lovefordgalaxie Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Finished this one this morning. After seeing the red '53 go, I decided to build one for me. The color was mixed from Acrilex water based paints to represent Timberline Green. Since the acrylic paint dries flat, I gave the body two coats of automotive two part clear. Mixed a slightly different tone of metallic green for the interior. Foil is home made. Still don't know about the fender skirts. Think I like the car better without them. Also plan on the future, to get a set of wheels with wheel covers for the car, instead of the Pace Car wire wheels included in the kit. 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr
RichCostello Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 That thing is beautiful! See Tulio, there ARE other colors besides black. I love that green!
Bucky Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 A spectacular build! Beautiful color on this Fabulous Ford!
tmb727 Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Picture perfect. Every one. Beautifully done.
1930fordpickup Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Another great looking model from your bench. I also like the green.
TarheelRick Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Beautiful Sunliner, that color looks really good on it. I have two of these on the bench right now, one is box stock and the other is a short track car without the front fenders.
donb Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Super sharp. Great color combo too. Nice one for sure!
D. Battista Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Another great looking build from your bench Tulio...! Very nice..!
BeakDoc Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Gorgeous build. Details, paint...everything. I think wire wheels look super sharp on her and I totally agree with you on the skirts.
Rider Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Absolutly amazing, I really dig the colour. One question, all that amazing work and attention to detail, why no plug wires, just curious.
bbowser Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 That's a beauty, that green is stunning. I really like the slightly different shade for the interior. I agree about the wheel covers versus wires.
espo Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Beautiful looking Sunliner. Ford had a shade of green at that time and your mixture looks exactly like it.
PARTS GUY Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Awesome as always. Nice to see someone that knows how to detail a early Ford correctly.
olschoolkid Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Nice ford. I like the green, it gives it some good style. I agree as well that some different hubcaps would look good although the wires aren't too bad.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 Thanks guys!!! 7 hours ago, Classicgas said: Stunning! Is that green a metallic? Yes, it's metallic. 4 hours ago, Rider said: Absolutly amazing, I really dig the colour. One question, all that amazing work and attention to detail, why no plug wires, just curious. Thanks!! For me it's very rare to add detail other than what comes in the box. Still trying not to make a mess with what the kit provides, LOL!!!
Anglia105E Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Now that is a really nice model Tulio..... and the green paintwork suits it perfectly. Also, I think 1953 was a very good year for American cars David
Sixties Sam Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Superb, as all your builds are! Great work! I like the green color. Sam
peekay Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Beautifully built as always Tulio! (But yeah, those wires have to go. )
