Now that is funny!!! I had a recliner come out of a truck in front of me one day! Came within about 7 feet of it bouncing off my left headlight!!

I always observe the junk on the side of the interstates that came flying off trucks or cars.  I chuckle when I see a single drawer or couch cushion.  I chuckle to myself as to the owner’s reaction when they went to unload.

We were towing through New York a few years back. On the side of the freeway, just past the Davenport exit was....guess what?

You can always tell when it's the first of the month by all the debris on the side of the highways around here. This is a time when people are usually moving  and no one wants to use anything to tie down their furniture in the back of their trucks. You will often see bags of clothing as well.

I had to dodge an old console TV that fell out a truck and ended up in the middle of a lane of I-80 near Vacaville, CA about 15 years ago...I recall seeing a grubby V8 w/ transmission on the side of I-40 in NM a few years ago...

The things you see on the motorway just make you wonder sometimes. About twenty years ago I was driving back from Essex to Wales, I had just passed over the Severn bridge. In front of me was a smoke belching old Transit van loaded with scrap. The safety net had ripped and every few miles something was falling off. I tried flashing my headlights to warn him but he wasn't interested and just kept driving, dropping bits of scrap along the way until the whole lot suddenly let go! Although I was a fair distance behind him I still managed to obliterate an old electric heater doing 70mph! There wasn't any mobile phones then like today so I followed him as far as I could but he was driving off right into the backwoods of nowhere, so I gave up turned around and just reported it to the police. Nothing ever came of it and I never heard anything more about it.

One of my favorite..

Many years ago on the way to work on Route 80 in New Jersey, traffic came to a stop. As we finally got to the obstruction in the center lane.. it was a Toyota Corolla with all four wheels off the ground, perfectly landed on top of what looked to be the door off a commercial refrigerator.  Of course before cell phone cameras!
