'40 Willys Show/Gas Pick-up

I finally got it done.  I started working on this in April and after more issues than I would have liked just completed it yesterday. It's the AMT Coca-Cola issue.

I started out cutting off the hood so as to not make it with the flip front. Since I couldn't get the hood to fit right after cutting it off I decided to just glue the hood back on using small plastic round to fill the gap between the fenders and the hood and do it as a curb-side.

I managed to destroy the first paint job fighting with getting the body on the chassis and had to strip it and repaint. The red paint is Createx Opaque red, the black is Anita's Metallic Black over Stynylrez gray primer.

The hood scoop is the bottom part of the 2 part scoop from the '67 Chevelle kit with the open top filled in. The M&H slicks are from my stash (don't really know what kit has those) and the rear centerlines were provided me by forum member "70 Grande", thanks Mark.  Front wheels and tires are the kit ones.

Hope I don't bore you Guys' with all the pics.

Very nice, love the color scheme!

Thank you Guido and Larry.   I think maybe I should have put this in the Model Cars section instead. Doesn't seem to be getting a lotta "love"😃

Has a real 1970s magazine cover-shot vibe! Could be Hot Rod, Truckin', Rod & Custom, or one of a half dozen others; it fits them all. The cool factor is right off the scale. Nicely done.
